Jeffrey Alan ‘Jeff’ Snavely

Wake Forest

Jeffrey Alan “Jeff” Snavely, 59, of Wake Forest passed away Saturday, September 19, 2015. Jeff was a 1974 graduate of WF-R High School, where he played football, and he attended Louisburg College. He was the owner of Triad Earthworks and enjoyed working with horses. His horses were often used for weddings and for pulling Santa Claus in area Christmas Parades.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, September 23, 2015, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center with the Rev. Jimmy Allen officiating. Burial was in Wake Forest Cemetery.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Margaret Snavely; daughter, Josie Griffin of Wake Forest; sisters, Sheila Piasecki and husband, Gene, of Fayetteville and Christine Snavely of Raleigh; brother, Tony Snavely of Wake Forest; granddaughter, McKenna Griffin of Wake Forest; nieces and nephews, Anthony and JoAnn Snavely, Ricky, Christopher, and Matthew Carter, Valerie Henley, Bobby Mitchell, and Bryan Mauney; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gary and JoAnn Snavely, and by his brother, David Snavely.

Maylon Dock Cash

Louisburg

Maylon Dock Cash, 82, of Louisburg passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2015. He was born in Franklin County, the son of the late Dock and Adell Cash, and was married to Lila Mae Rogers Cash, who preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon, September 18, 2015, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home. Burial was in Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Cash is survived by his son, Daylon Cash of Louisburg; brother, Darrel Cash and wife, Pat, of Louisburg; sisters, Frances Moody of Louisburg and Ava Perry of Cary; grandchildren, Kevin Cash and Lynn Pendleton; and great-grandson, Joey Pendleton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Cash, and his son, Douglas Cash.

Pallbearers were Heath Cash, Mickey Moody, Greg Moody, Steve Mercer, Todd Johnson, and Kenneth Moser.

Mary Florio

Raleigh

Mary Florio, 96, of Raleigh passed away Tuesday morning, September 15, 2015, at her residence. She was born in Queens, New York, the daughter of the late Eva Milewski Kotowski and Alexander Kotowski. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Florio.

Mrs. Florio is survived by her son, Frank Florio and wife, Muriel, of Raleigh; grandchildren, Mark Florio and wife, Diane, of Wake Forest, Bruce Florio of Charlotte, and David Florio and wife, Natalie; and great-grandchildren, Tyler, Logan, Mathilda and Elleanor Florio.

John ‘Buck’ Robert Buchanan

Wake Forest

John “Buck” Robert Buchanan, 75, passed away quietly at his home on Monday, Sept. 21, 2015, in Wake Forest. He was born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, but resided in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania, most of his life before settling in Wake Forest.

He was a graduate of Pennsbury High School, class of 1957, and attended Penn State University. John was a U.S. Navy veteran and proudly served on the USS Moele. He was a retired computer hardware technician, a job he loved, and one which allowed him to travel the world applying his talent. John was also an avid Penn State football fan.

John was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Louise Buchanan; his brother, Jimmer; and his sister, Mary Jane.

He is survived by his three children: David Buchanan of Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania, Sharon Doele of Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, and Lori Brandt (Thomas) of Asheville. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Grant, William and Alex Buchanan and Brett, Amos, Ryan and Tara Doele; the mother of his children, Carol Krug Buchanan of Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania; several cousins, nieces and nephews; his beloved dog, Dudette; and many friends, especially his best buddy, Ed Scott of Wake Forest.

Services provided by Barnekow Funeral Home. The memorial service will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the ASPCA, Purple Heart or the charity of one’s choice.
