Evelyn R. ‘Evie’ Kornegay

Wake Forest

Evelyn Ruth “Evie” Kornegay, 12-day-old daughter of James and Christie Kornegay, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2015, at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon, August 10, 2015, at Wake Forest Baptist Church. Burial was in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.

In addition to her parents, Evie is survived by her sister, Charlotte Jane “Charlie” Kornegay; grandparents, Wayne and Shirley Funderburke of Wake Forest, James Wallace Kornegay, Jr. of Youngsville, and Martha Thuston and husband, Rick, of Carthage; great-grandparents, Doris Shoe of Carthage, Verlie Kornegay of Youngsville, and Audrey Casper of Raleigh; many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

 Benjamin F. ‘Ben’ McIntyre

Louisburg

Benjamin Franklin “Ben” McIntyre, 78, of Louisburg passed away on Friday, August 7, 2015, at WakeMed. He was born in Cleveland County, the son of the late Franklin and Kathleen McIntyre and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Ben was a former district manager with Hardees and was a retired construction supervisor with Inco. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, smoking his pipe, playing the lottery, and watching westerns and the History Channel. He was an excellent marksman and was a life-long Republican.

A celebration of Ben’s life was held at 6 o’clock Monday evening, August 10, 2015, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary McNair officiating.

Ben is survived by his wife of 51 years, Donna McIntyre; daughters, Sherry Whitman of Youngsville, Wendy McIntyre Albright and husband, Raymond, of Denton, Kansas, Kathy McIntyre Williams of Youngsville, and Kelly McIntyre of Zebulon; grandchildren, Cameron and husband, Ryan, Jennifer, Brandon, Emily, Cole, and Mitch; sister, Becky Neill of Troutman; brothers, Don McIntyre of Altavista, Virginia, and Jimmy McIntyre of New Albany, Indiana.

Donald B. ‘Don’ Polley

Youngsville

Donald Bowman “Don” Polley, 82, of Youngsville passed away Tuesday evening, August 4, 2015, at his home. He was born in Illinois, the son of the late Harry and Omega Polley, and was a retired electronics technician.

A memorial service celebrating his life was held at 1 o’clock Saturday afternoon, August 8, 2015, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary McNair officiating.

Mr. Polley is survived by his wife, Sandra Polley; son, Ronald Lee Polley of New Bern; daughter, Jan Marie Polley-Scott of Winston-Salem; and brother, Billy L. Polley of Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his son, Donald Bowman Polley Jr.
