Kaitlyn Corona

Kaitlyn Corona, age 23, of Wake Forest died at a result of an automobile accident on Saturday January 7, 2023. Katie was born in New Jersey on September 21, 1999 to Sugeiry Abreu and Jose Corona. She was educated in New Jersey and moved to Wake Forest four years ago. Kaitlyn was an exceptional hair stylist who worked at Great Clips in Youngsville.

She is survived by her parents Sugeiry Abreu and Jose Corona of Wake Forest; brothers and sisters Koralee Pinales, Aubyn Pinales, Gabriel Cuteo, Dynalee Corona, Joseph Corona and Raymond Corona.

A Celebration of her life will be held in the Bright Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday January 12, 2023  at 11AM.

A Visitation will be on Wednesday January 11, 2023  from 4 to 7 PM at Bright Funeral Home.

William David ‘Bill’ Mowbray

Raleigh

William David “Bill” Mowbray, 75, of Raleigh passed away Saturday night , January 7, 2023, at Sunnybrook Nursing and Rehab.

Bill was born July 23, 1947 in Long Island, New York to the late William and Naomi Mowbray.

Bill is survived by his wife Linda Goodwin Mowbray, Sisters Judith Mowbray Lavista of North Carolina, Jeanette Mowbray Sturmer of New York and was predeceased by Olive Mowbray Gregory of Mississippi.

Bill served in the U.S Navy., was a Master Geneologist, avid Suduko & Puzzler and enjoyed woodworking, creating all decorations for all holidays displayed in their yard himself.

A memorial service will be held at Pearce Baptist Church, 4634 Pearces Rd, Zebulon, NC 27597 with  Pastor Mark Cottrell officiating.     Date and time and to be announced soon.

Bob Alward

Durham

Bob Alward passed away on Monday January 9th, 2023.  He was born in Kingston, NY and is the son of the late Gladys Clayton and Raymond Alward.  Bob was a graduate of Kingston High School and SUNY Ulster. He was married to Joan Alward for 56 years until her passing in 2017.

He was a veteran of the US Air Force and retired from IBM after 40 years of service.

Bob is survived by his daughter Lynne Murphy and son Scott Alward and their spouses, his three grandchildren Ben, Skylar, Tristan, and sister Ruth.

A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home (405 S. Main St. Wake Forest, NC 27587) on Saturday, January 14th, 2023 at 3PM.  Friends may visit with the family from 2-3PM prior to the service.

Dominic Miguel Massi Silva

Wake Forest

Dominic Miguel Massi Silva, infant son of Tiago Silva and Larissa Massi, passed away January 7, 2023 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.  Dominic was born October 5, 2022 in Chapel Hill.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 11, 2023 from 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM at Bright Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 3:00 PM in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens in Wake Forest.

Joyce Ann Ross

Raleigh

Joyce Ann Ross, 79, of Raleigh passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023.  She was born December 19, 1943 in Vance County daughter of the late Dewey and Helen S. Walker.  Her husband, Henry Elmo Ross, Jr. and her son, Tony Ross also preceded her in death.

She retired from retail sales. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Bright Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Wake Forest Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

She is survived by daughters, Beverly Hayes and husband Billy of Oxford, Lynn Baker and husband Steven of Knightdale and Melissa Leonard and husband John of Knightdale, a son, Jeff Ross and wife Patricia of Clayton, a brother, Ricky Walker of Henderson, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Angela Reid Harrison

Wake Forest

Angela Reid Harrison, 55, of Wake Forest passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 4, 2023 at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham. She was the daughter of the late Brenda Keith Harrison and Baxter Reid Harrison.

Angela graduated from Wake Forest High School in 1985 . Shortly after Graduation Angela proceeded to follow her dream in life to be a Registered Nurse. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Barton Nursing School. Angela had a huge heart and loved her family to the fullest. She also was a huge NC State fan.

Angela was preceded in death by her mother, Brenda Keith Harrison and father, Baxter Reid Harrison.

Angela is survived by her daughter, Aspen Ferguson, aunts, Barbara “Bobbie” Boykin, Brenda Harrison  Ray (Nelson), LaRue Gregory (Lonnie), uncle, Dalton Harrison (Les) and many Cousins and also a special Friend Theresa.

A Memorial Service Celebrating Angela’s life will be held 11 o’clock Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, 2817 Durham Rd, Wake Forest, NC 27587 with Pastor Adam Ivy and Lonnie Gregory Officiating.

Joseph E. Hodges

Joseph E. Hodges, 88, of Wake Forest passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2022 at Hillside Nursing Center. He was born in Forsyth County son of the late Annie and Joseph P. Hodges. He was retired from Leggett and Myers Tobacco Company in Durham and Waste Industries.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon, January 8, 2023 in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor.

Mr. Hodges is survived by his wife; Maxine Ray Hodges, a daughter; Judy Ray of Wake Forest, a son; Michael Hodges and his wife Betty Jean of Oxford, 3 grandchildren; Karen R. Sauter and her husband Patrick, Brian Ray and Stacey H. Hicks and her husband Phillip, a step granddaughter; Angela Sizemore, two step great-grandsons; Caleb Ivey and Chris Edwards, 1 great-great-grandson; Eli Ivey.

Curtis Lee O’Neal

Youngsville

Curtis Lee O’Neal, 70, of Youngsville passed away on Tuesday morning, January 3, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Granville County son of the late Pauline Moore O’Neal and William Sanford O’Neal.

Curtis was a business entrepreneur with a focus in car sales. He loved corvettes and as a young man loved to drag race. He loved his church and being around people.

A funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, January 8, 2023 at the Oak Level Christian Church in Youngsville. Burial will follow in the Woodland Baptist Church Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife; Susan Wilkinson O’Neal, sons; Chris O’Neal and Lee O’Neal; daughter in law; Melissa O’Neal, stepsons; Eddie Conway and Tommy Conway, brothers; Jimmie Kearney, Ronnie Kearney, and Ricky Kearney, sister; Deanna Davis, grandchildren; Autumn O’Neal and Cager O’Neal; his beloved dog and buddy Marley, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sisters; Ruth Kearney and Christine Reagan.

Friends may visit with the family from 1:30 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service at the church.
