Sid Harold Richards

Sid Harold Richards, 70, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014, at Transitions Life Center with his daughters by his side. He was born in Nash County, the son of Annie Gray Mitchell Richards and the late Fletcher Richards Jr.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon, October 13, 2014, at Beulah Christian Baptist Church with Pastor Ronnie Snead officiating. Burial was in the Mitchell Family Cemetery.

Sid is survived by his wife, Debbie Ray Richards; daughters, Teresa Richards of Bailey, and Michelle Hill and husband, David, of Wilson and their two daughters, Caitlin and Braillen; her mother, Annie Gray Richards; sister, Debbie Soles and husband, Thomas; her brother, Clarence Ned Richards; step-children, Tiffany George and husband, Chris, of Kenly, Nathan Trotter of Smithfield and Wesley Trotter of Angier; and five step-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Transitions Life Care, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.

Pallbearers were Herman Carter, Bobby Pearce, Ricky Minor, Bill Alford, Anthony Barham, Shane Barham, Jeremy Mitchell, and Ralph Wall. Honorary pallbearers were Clem Mitchell, Ted Mitchell, Tommy Wilson, Lester Barham, Franklin Barham, and W. L. Pearce.

Diane Mason

Benson

Beverly Diane Mason, 65, ascended to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 9, 2014. She was born in Wake County, the daughter of Bessie Campbell Fulcher and the late Reubin Fulcher, and was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Funeral services were held at 1 o’clock Monday afternoon, October 13, 2014, at Bay Leaf Baptist Church. Burial was in Raleigh Memorial Park.

Diane is survived by her husband, Terry G. Mason; daughter, Kimberly Mason Hake and husband, Perry, of Benson; son, Joey Mason and wife, Kathleen, of Benson; her mother, Bessie Fulcher of Raleigh; sister, Gayle Fulcher Pettycord Kurdian and husband, Bill, of Ramseur; niece, Jenny Pettycord of Raleigh; grandchildren, Kailey and Amber Knight, Joie-Leigh and Tucker Mason, Cody and Kristyn Hake and Taylor Knight; great-granddaughter, Emma Pahl; and  numerous cousins.

Virginia Painter Pearce

Wake Forest

Virginia Painter Pearce, born June 25, 1928, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2014, after a 10-year battle with cancer.  Virginia, lovingly known as Granny Gin, was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She selflessly cared for her husband, Ralph Haywood Pearce, throughout his long illness.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon October 11, 2014 at Rolesville Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Randy Bridges officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Virginia leaves behind her loving son, Gary Lynn Pearce (wife, Grae); grandsons, Bryan and Brenden Pearce; sisters, Kathryn Vaughan, Doris Driver and Faye Martin; brother-in- law, Everette Peace; sisters-in-law, Lillian Pearce, Elsie Shearon, Mary Lee; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Carlyle and Alma Woodlief and Lynn and Bob Meyer.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Pearce; her mother, Nannie Arnold Painter; her father, Charlie Painter; brothers, Charles Painter, Thomp Painter, and Wyatt Painter; sisters, Fannie Mae Jeffreys, Barbara Carroll, Lavata Bussey; and by her special grandson, Lane Meyer.

Samir Bassiouni

Wake Forest

Samir Bassiouni, 33, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, October 4, 2014. Samir grew up in Mocksville, the son of Ahmed and Cathy Bassiouni. He later attended UNC Wilmington where he received a degree in Finance and Management. It was there that he met his wife, Jennifer. Both began working at Pharmaceutical Product Development after graduation where Samir served as a manager in the RTP Human Resources department. Samir will be remembered for his humor, warmth, and caring for others. His ready smile will be sorely missed.

An informal memorial service was held on Sunday, October 12, 2014, at The Cotton Company in Wake Forest.

Samir is survived by his wife, Jennifer; his parents, Ahmed and Cathy Bassiouni; Jennifer’s parents, Walter and Linda Stone; sister-in-law, Kristen Crider, and her husband, Skipp, and their daughters, Kaylee and Kendyl.
