Annie Mae Keith Lowery

Annie Mae Keith Lowery, 89, of Wake Forest, passed away on June 13, 2021 after enjoying a long, full life. She was born in Granville County to the late Joe and Meda Tharrington Keith. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Elton Lowery, and an infant son.
Annie worked for a number of years at Hollowell’s Grocery Store, Central Carolina Bank and retired from Nationwide Insurance Company. Annie loved taking her morning and afternoon walks, clipping coupons and finding bargains. Mrs. Lowery was a lifetime member of Stony Hill Baptist Church and served faithfully as long as her health permitted.
Friends may visit with the family from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Tharrington Family Cemetery on Tharrington Road, Wake Forest.
Mrs. Lowery is survived by her loving sisters and brothers, Mavis Strickland, Bryant Keith (Joyce), Peggy Hunter (Bobby), Sammy Keith (Becky), and Judy Kuykendall. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at WakeMed North and Transitions LifeCare for the care and attention of Annie. They would also like to thank the staff of Hillside Nursing & Rehab Center for the excellent care and kindness shown to Annie during her three years there.

William ‘Bill’ Woodlief
Wake Forest
William “Bill” Woodlief, 65, of Wake Forest passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at his residence. He was born in Wake County, the son of Gladys Holloway Woodlief and the late L.T. Woodlief Sr.
After being employed with Wake County Schools, he continued his career as a self-employed contractor.
Bill enjoyed playing golf and cheering on the Duke Blue Devils. He especially enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was a member of Stony Hill Baptist Church.
A graveside funeral service was held Friday afternoon, June 11, 2021, in the Stony Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Mayfield officiating.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Leigh Woodlief Hinson and husband, Bucky; granddaughter, Gigi Hinson; mother, Gladys Holloway Woodlief; his brothers, L.T. Woodlief Jr., Jim Woodlief and wife, Sandra, Marty Woodlief; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Shirley Denton Morris
Youngsville
Shirley Denton Morris, 75, of Youngsville passed away Friday, June 11, 2021, at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Louise Denton; brothers, William “Buddy” Denton and Harvey Denton (Edna); daughter, Donna Lee Pittman; son, Johnny Morris; sister- in-law, Maxine Porter; and grandson, Mark Hanson.
A memorial service was held Sunday, June 13, 2021, in the Bright Funeral Home Chapel. The family received friends Sunday at the funeral home. A private burial will be held in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 26 years, John Nelson Morris; daughters, Shelia Pittman (Greg) of Spring Hope, Jennifer House (Derek) and Rhonda Alderman (Jake) both of Wake Forest, Tonya Morris, Kim Hanson (Mark); and son, Tom Morris, all from Pennsylvania; sister, Debbie Pearce of Zebulon; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother in-law, Ed Porter (Barb); sister in-law, Marie Denton; an uncle, Danny Jones (Brenda); along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was a graduate of Wake Forest High School and was a retired quality assurance inspector from both Schrader Bellows and Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical. After retirement, Shirley worked as a caregiver. She loved spending time with family and friends, cooking, reading, attending gospel singings and her flower gardens. She will truly be missed by all those that knew and loved her.
