Gail Martonic Christine

Gail Martonic Christine, 86, formerly of Daytona Beach, Florida, passed away September 15, 2014, at Rex Hospital. Mrs. Christine was born in Berks County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Floyd Eugene Auchenbach and Jennie Kissinger Auchenbach. She was a retired registrationc with Halifax Health Medical Center. Following her retirement, she worked at Angell and Phelps Chocolate Factory.

A service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Christine is survived by her son, Gerald Ray “Jerry” Martonic Jr. and wife, Deborah, of Wake Forest; granddaughters, Rebecca Lynn England and husband, Egan, of Wake Forest, and Lindsay Michelle Martonic of Gastonia; great-grandchildren, Brooke Elizabeth England and Ty Walker England; and niece, Jean Tothero of Wernersville, Pennsylvania.

Edward Ernest Wells

Edward Ernest Wells, 79, died Saturday evening, September 13, 2014, at Morningside Assisted Living in Raleigh. He was born in London, England, the son of the late William Wells and Queenie Neal Wells.

A memorial service honoring his life will be held at 7 o’clock Friday evening, September 19, 2014, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home.

Mr. Wells is survived by his wife, Barbara Cufari Wells; daughters, Donna Portela of Kings Park, New York, and Diane Davoren of Concord; sisters, June Boulton, and Jacqueline Sharp of England; and beloved grandchildren, Matthew Portela, Dylan Portela, Riley Davoren, and Paige Davoren.

Bonnie Rae Watson

Bonnie Rae Watson, 65, passed away at her home on Friday, September 12, 2014. Born May 7, 1949, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Lt. Col. James B. McConnico Sr. and Lillian Rae McConnico.

Bonnie traveled the world with her parents while they were in the army, living in such places as Japan, Germany, and throughout the US. She also attended Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas.

She married J.C. Watson on March 18, 1972 in Hannibal, Missouri. To this marriage two sons, James Donald and Brent James, were born. She put all her energies into their lives in their early years, was the glue that held the family together, and will always be a devoted cheerleader for us. One of her favorite pastimes was reading, and she dearly enjoyed her many friends in the Raleigh area. She will be sadly missed by all.

She is survived by her husband, J.C. Watson, and her two sons, J.D. Watson and Brent Watson of Raleigh; her brother, James McConnico Jr. and wife, Susie, of Concord, California; niece, Sarah McConnico of San Francisco, California; nephew, Chris McConnico and wife, Jessica, of Brentwood, California, and nephew Will McConnico of Berkley, California. She was also the great-aunt of Gavin McConnico of Brentwood, California. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, September 17, 2014, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home. Honoring her wishes, she will be laid to rest in Bethany, Missouri.

Bruce Cameron Mooring

Bruce Cameron Mooring, 57, died September 11, 2014, after a battle with cancer. Bruce was born in Encino, California, to the late Eugene Cameron Mooring and Catherine Elizabeth Alexander Mooring.

He was employed at proto labs/Fineline Prototyping as a CNC Machinist in Raleigh. Bruce, “Snake,” enjoyed surfing, playing his guitar and building race cars and hydroplanes.

A celebration of Bruce’s life will be held at 2 o’clock, Saturday afternoon, October 11, 2014, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Peggy Hughes Mooring; step-daughter, Laura Jensen of Wake Forest; brother, Alan Mooring and wife, Barbara, of California; nephews, Aaron Mooring, Paul Mooring and Brian Mooring; sister, Diane Craig of California; and niece, Sabrina Guzman.

Charles David “Charlie” Haney, 88, died Thursday, September 11, 2014. He was born in Manhattan, New York, the son of the late Mary Daly Hynie and Charles Hynie.

Funeral services were held at 10 o’clock Monday morning, September 15, 2014, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home.

Mr. Haney is survived by his wife, Mildred Koval Haney; children, Linda Matlat and husband, John, and Mark Haney and wife, Sally, of New York, James Haney and wife, Marianne, of Wake Forest, and David Haney and wife, Christine, of Wake Forest; a sister, Rosemary Kuvalek of California; grandchildren, Jason Matlat of the USMC, Jennifer May, Sara Haney, and Mark Haney Jr. of New York, and Kathryn, Amanda, Allison and Christopher Haney of Wake Forest.

William Russell Bunn, 67, died Monday, September 15, 2014, at Rex Hospital. He was born in Wake County, the son of the late Luella and F. R. Bunn.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon, September 18, 2014, at New Hope Christian Church Cemetery.

Mr. Bunn is survived by his wife, Novette Shearin Bunn; step-children, Rodney Shearin and wife, Christy, of Louisburg, and Vanessia Shearin of Youngsville; daughter, Gina Bunn of Zebulon; and grandchildren, Chelesea, Justin and Sidney.

William Robert Bruce Jr.

William Robert Bruce Jr., 56, passed into the arms of Jesus on September 12, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. His 31-month battle with brain cancer ended. Robert was born in Bristol, Tennessee, and was raised in Sandy Springs, Georgia. He went to college at Valdosta State where he met his wife, Sue.

Robert was the co-founder of AlertNow, a successful software company which he sold in 2010. Upon selling his business, he founded the nonprofit Hire Level Ministry. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sue; children, Jacqueline, Matthew, and Cody; son-in-law, Adam Brewer; grandson, Camden Brewer; mother, Betty Robertson, and step-father, Ernie; sister, Teresa Starnes and husband, John; parents in-law, Gerald and Dorothy Klein; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws, Tony and Nancy Lanois and Steve and Sherri Klein; and numerous cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
