His mother and grandmother were excellent cooks and there was always a pot of soup on the stove when it was a cold, snowy day or mild summer day, and Steve loved it. If you asked what he wanted for dinner, it would be soup, even when he lived in Miami, FL.

His father was the master of any and everything, and he taught these to Steve, especially the value of and education. Steve graduated from Bishop Timon High School and went on to Canisius College for a bachelor’s degree. He continued his education a few years later, earning a master’s degree in Adult Education at the University of Miami.

Steve loved his country and joined the United States Army, stationed in Germany as a Supply Officer for two years. Being in Europe gave him a love of travel and he continued to travel his entire life including a safari in Africa with his wife Diane, which was his all-time favorite trip.

Steve was extremely smart; a day never went by that he wasn’t working on a crossword puzzle. He like to teach and spent most of his career as an adult trainer in corporate America. When he moved to Raleigh he met Diane, and they were together for almost forty years. Both Diane and Steve loved to travel, and Steve went to work with American Airlines.

If you knew Steve, you knew he had a quick sense of humor. Diane says she could never stay angry with him for long because he would have her laughing with his witty sense of humor.
