Kaye Pearce Harding

Kaye Pearce Harding, age 76, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2024, with her family by her side. She was born August 31st, 1947, in Johnston County.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Larsetine and two sisters Carolyn and Faye. Kaye is survived by her husband of 51 years Kenneth Harding, Sr., son, Kenne, (Alison) and her grandchildren; Keeley and Camryn. She also leaves behind two sisters Annette and Vicki.
Kaye loved to send cards for every occasion as well as handwritten notes. For many years she was an elementary school teacher and those tendencies carried over when she got the joy of caring for her grandchildren. She considered herself incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to raise the girls from infants to the time they were ready for pre-school.
Later in life she rekindled her love for church and became very involved with her church groups at Mount Vernon Baptist Church.
A Memorial Service will be conducted on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home. Following, there will be a graveside service to be attended by family and close friends. The family will host guests at the home of Kenne and Alison following the services.

William David ‘Fatdaddy’ Powell

William David “Fatdaddy” Powell, 93, of Wake County, NC, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2023. He was born in Franklin County on December 19, 1930, the son of the late Graham and Ada Powell and was a member of Woodland Baptist Church. David was a veteran of the US Army and was retired from A&P Warehouse.
Funeral services were held at 3 o’clock, Saturday afternoon, March 16, 2024 at Woodland Baptist Church with the Rev. Al Thomas officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with military honors.
David is survived by his wife of 68 years, Polly Munn Powell; sons, LaMont David Powell (Joan) and Joey Lynn Powell (Joy); grandsons, Thomas Powell and Scott Gregory (Kassie); sisters, Dorothy “Dot” Taliadoros, Rachel Holden and Carolyn Gordon; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Deneise Gail Powell; sisters, Mabel Wiggins and Lowell Hart; and brothers, Royce Powell and Carlos Powell.

Archer Ray Williams, 83, of Raleigh, NC, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.
Archer was born in Halifax Co., NC and raised in Northampton Co., NC to the late Russell and Susie Williams. He worked at International Paper in Roanoke Rapids, NC for 43 years before retiring to North Myrtle Beach, SC where he lived for 20 years. He loved his family, walking on the beach, and playing golf.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, James “Bing” Willams, Harold “Jim” Williams, and Brenda Futrell.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Ellen M. Williams; daughter, Tammy (Robert) Martin of Raleigh, NC; granddaughter, Ashley (Zachary) Potter and great-grandson, Michael Blayne Potter of Fairbanks, AK; grandson, William Robert Martin of Raleigh, NC; and sister, Shirley Pershing of Raleigh, NC.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, March 21, 2024 in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Randy Mann officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10-11 AM at Bright Funeral Home, 405 S. Main St. Wake Forest, NC 27587.
A private burial will be held at Sunnyside Cemetery in Scotland Neck, NC.

Brenda Lucille Thorne of Youngsville, died of natural causes on March 12, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Brenda is survived by her two sisters, niece, nephew and two great nieces. She was a graduate of Barton College and worked as a community college counselor for over 30 years. Brenda enjoyed research in Genealogy.

James Elmer Daniel, 77, of Wendell died Monday, March 11, 2024 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
James was born on September 15, 1946 to the late Glover and Elgie Daniel Jeans.
He is preceded in death by his beloved dog, Gigi, Brother; William Daniel and stepfather Allen Jeans.
Mr. Daniel served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked for 25 years as a Maintenance Mechanic at Square D in Knightdale, NC and as well at the Central Prison in Raleigh.
James had a passion for NASCAR. In his free time you would find him down at the race track watching his soon to be son-in-law, Joe, race. He was also known for his pristine yard especially during the holiday seasons. James will be remembered as an excellent husband, father and grandfather. He had a beautiful smile that radiated any room when he entered and had the most caring soul and a witty sense of humor.

Larisa Roata, 55, of Raleigh, NC, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024. She was born on December 16, 1968 to the late Marta and Grigorie Strut.
Larisa loved her family very much and enjoyed hosting family events at her home. She loved to cook and spend time in her garden.
She had a generous heart, she always put others before herself. She was a hard worker and always pushed her children to do well in school. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Above all she was a woman of faith, and a wife and mom of prayer.
She is survived by her husband, Iurie Roata; and children, Igor, Inga, Cornel, Veronica, Dorel, Ana, Cornelia, and Estera.

Richard ‘Ricky’ Eugene Poole

Richard “Ricky” Eugene Poole Jr, 61 of Wake Forest, passed away peacefully at Transitions Life Center after a yearlong battle of esophageal cancer.
Ricky loved his two girls and four grandchildren. He loved tussling with the kids till he couldn’t take their excitement of roughhousing anymore. He was a member of Granville Masonic Lodge, NO. 380 and Master of the Lodge in 1997 and 2001. At his passing he held the Junior Deacon chair. He enjoyed driving cross country in his commercial truck before having to give it up because of his illness. He was a Landstar Roadstar recipient in 2022 and took pride in his safety record. He loved cars, trucks, tractors, and anything with a motor.
Ricky was predeceased in death by his loving grandparents, Flonnie and Oscar Rogers; his beloved great-aunt, Chloe Hodge; and parents, Carolyn Harrell and Richard Poole.
Ricky is survived by Miriam Poole; daughters, Kirstyn Alford (Cameron), Hailey Norris (Seth); and grandchildren, Keely, Grayson, Ashton, Lela and baby Norris on the way. He is also survived by his brother, Charles “Eric” McKenzie; and his beloved step-father, Carl McKenzie (Polly) whom he shared a great love of tractors with; his brother, Billy Poole (Stacy); and sister, Kelly Alphin (Pete) and nephews.
A memorial service was held at 2 PM on Friday, March 15, 2024, at Rolesville Baptist Church 203 E. Young St. Rolesville, NC 27571. The Family received friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
