Maylon Jones Frazier
Maylon Jones Frazier, 91, of Raleigh passed away Friday, August 22, 2014, at his home. He was born and reared on a farm in Franklin County, the son of the late Grover Haywood Frazier and Goldie Hagwood Frazier. He served in the United States Army Air Corps as an Aerial Gunner in WW II and later attended Hardbarger Business School where he received an accounting diploma.
Mr. Frazier retired from the City of Raleigh Fire Department as a Captain after 28 years of service and was a dedicated member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Raleigh. Throughout the years he served as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Treasurer and also served on the NC Baptist Foundation Board of Directors. He volunteered for several mission trips along with his wife in the 1980s having served in Togo, West Africa.
Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon, August 25, 2014 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Raleigh with the Rev. Dr. M. Clay Warf and the Rev. Tim Lolley officiating. Burial was in the Harris Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Frazier is survived by his wife of 69 years, Hallie Ray Frazier; brother, Russell Wayne Frazier and wife, Clara, of Youngsville; nieces, Teresa Kay Dail of Greensboro and Julie Dail Guentner and husband, Greg, of Mooresville; nephews, Russell Wayne “Rusty” Frazier II of Wake Forest, Jeffrey Clayton Dail and wife, Nedra, of Denver, and Mark Frazier Dail and wife, Julie, of Denver; and several great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sallie Alford Frazier Dail.

Pallbearers were Rusty Frazier, Mark Dail, Jeff Dail, Morris Robbins, Paul Gibbs, Roy Frazier, Bill Overby, and John Davis. Honorary pallbearers were Ed Coates, Everett Strickland, and Cloyce Alford.

E. Chester Wall
E. Chester Wall, 91, of Salisbury, formerly of Rolesville, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at the NC State Veterans Home in Salisbury. He was born in Wake County, the son of the late Sam Wall and Bessie Pulley Wall.
Mr. Wall was a graduate of Rolesville High School in 1940 and was a veteran of the United States Navy having served from 1944 to 1947. He received the WWII Victory Medal serving as a Torpedoman on the USS Sierra and later served as cook & butcher on the USS Titania.
Mr. Wall was an Insurance Agent and Real Estate Broker for many years. He served on the Rolesville Planning & Zoning Board and was retired from the NC Agriculture Department as a Commodity Grader in 1982. He was a member of Rolesville Baptist Church and a lifelong member of Rolesville Lodge #683 A.F. & A.M., where he was recognized for 50 years of service in 2013. Mr. Wall enjoyed traveling, camping, college basketball, but most of all spending time with his family.
Funeral services were held at 1 o’clock Saturday afternoon, August 23, 2014, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. J. Marshall Neathery officiating. Burial was in the Rolesville Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Wall is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marie Cunningham Wall; children, Glenn Wall and wife, Sue, of Salisbury and Andy Wall and wife, Lynne, of Kill Devil Hills; grandchildren, John Wall and wife, Holly, of Boiling Springs, Susan Wall Holland and husband, Kevin, of Garner, Coy Privette and wife, Niki, of Wake Forest, and Brandi Privette of Wake Forest; great-grandchildren, Olivia Claire Wall, Annabel Holland, Hunter Privette, Carson Privette and Andrew Privette; and sisters, Bertie Wiggins of Rolesville and Bessie Dixon and husband, Beverly, of Rolesville. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Wall.
