Harold Barton

Wake Forest

Harold Barton, age 85, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023.  He was the son of the late Floyd and Nervie Harrison Barton.  He was also preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at 3:00 P.M. at Bright Funeral Home with Pastor Ryan Walcott officiating.  Burial will follow in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens in Wake Forest with Pastor Jared Hinson officiating.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2:00 – 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Edna Lindsey Barton, three sons, Ricky Barton and wife Kim, David Barton and wife Cathy and Robert Barton and wife Tammy, one sister, Ellen Caudill of Cleveland, VA, one sister-in-law, Vickie Barton of Haysi, VA and best friend, Joe Owens of Council, VA, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Eric Mathew Ellis

Wake Forest

Eric Mathew Ellis, 43, of Wake Forest, NC, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023.

Eric was born on November 15, 1979 in Oswego, NY. He was a plumber and loved hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda Ellis; and father, David Ellis.

His is survived by his mother, Gayle Dain; step father, Robert Dain; sisters, Marsha Smith, Tanya Ludwikowski; and brother, Zachary Dain.

Lisa M. Torres Swett

Zebulon

Lisa M. Torres Swett, 49, of Zebulon, NC, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023.

Lisa was born on November 15, 1973 in New York. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was known as “Glamma” to her 3-month-old grandson Grayson and enjoyed spending as much time with him as possible. Her and John loved to travel and enjoyed the adventure together. She was a proud Army Veteran who served her country.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ester Torres; and uncle, Tony.

She is survived by her loving husband of 22 years, John Swett; father, Carlos Torres; sister, Lori S. Torres; stepdaughter, Hanah (Harrison) Sales; grandson Grayson Sales; nephew, Reggie Holliday; father in law, Frank (Terri) Swett; and mother in law, Van Gardiner (Pete).
