Jamie Ayscue Jr.

Jamie Ayscue Jr., 54, of Franklinton died Thursday, June 26, 2014. Jamie was born in Ohio, the son of the late Travis Josephine Ayscue and Jamie Ayscue Sr., and was retired from the U.S. Marine Corp.

Jamie loved his family, his friends, his animals and his Corps. He would tell you his life began at 18 when he joined the USMC. He will receive a full military honor guard to represent how he felt about being a jarhead. He was a step-dad who taught the importance of hard work and being true to oneself. He was a big brother who would tease relentlessly but be the first to stand up and defend his brother if anyone else did. He was a son who cared for both of his parents, taking care of his father and making sure his mom had the best until they passed on. He was the kind of friend who would share anything he had and give the shirt off his back. He did not tolerate the abuse of children, animals, the elderly or anyone who could not defend themselves. He was a husband, best friend and soul mate to his wife, who will forever be his wife until they meet again. As they say in the Corps “OOH-RAH” to a gentle soul who, in his legendary black T-shirt and cammie pants, changed the world for more than a few people and the many animals that are loved and spoiled because he cared. I will have you in my heart, Pookie, until I have you in my arms once again.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon, June 28, 2014, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home.

Jamie is survived by his wife, Kim Ayscue; step-sons, Andrew Boyle of Franklinton and Michael Boyle of Charlotte; and brother, Robert Ayscue and wife, Kristine, of Louisburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin County Humane Society, P. O. Box 338, Youngsville, NC 27596.
