Fernando F. Dohnert

Fernando “Phil” F. Dohnert, 72, of Franklinton passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, in Raleigh. He was born April 29, 1946 in Santurce, Puerto Rico. He was the son of the late Fernando and Matilde (Molina) Dohnert.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, November 12, 2018, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home. Burial followed at Pine Forest Memorial Garden.
Phil was a truck driver who loved to drive around the country, seeing all the beauty of America. He particularly enjoyed the mountains and vacationing in Virginia and Tennessee. He loved animals, especially dogs. He would pick up stray dogs regularly. He had a herd of 10 dogs at one time, and this was one of the happiest eras of his life. He loved sci- fi movies, coffee with doughnuts, and receiving hugs.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nydia (Bonilla) Dohnert, his three sons, and four grandchildren: Fernando Dohnert Jr.; daughter-in-law, Heidi Dohnert; grandchildren, Trey and Parker; Roberto Dohnert; Eric Dohnert; daughter-in-law, Ann Bonini Dohnert; grandchildren, Meaghan and Eric Tyler.

Annie Belle Watkins

Annie Belle Watkins, 89, of Wake Forest passed away on Tuesday afternoon, November 6, 2018. She was born in Wake County, the daughter of the late Rosa Cooper McGhee and Ezra McGhee. She was preceded in death by her husband; Hubert A. Watkins Sr.
Mrs. Watkins was a member of the Wake Crossroads Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning, November 10, 2018, at Wake Crossroads Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Watkins is survived by her daughter, Karen Watkins and her husband, Danny, of Zebulon; sons, Alvin Watkins and his wife, Pat,of Wake Forest, Brian Watkins and his wife, Shannon, of Coats; grandchildren, Jeremy Watkins, Haley Watkins, Danielle Watkins, Caleb Watkins and Grace Watkins; and great-grandchildren, Ashley Watkins and Tori Vaughan.

Joseph Wesley Cooke Sr.

Joseph Wesley Cooke Sr., 83, died Saturday, November 10, 2018, at his home. He was born November 1, 1935 to the late Wesley Allen Cooke and Josephine Chappell Cooke. Joseph was an electrician for many years and was a member of Wake Forest Church of God.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Clara Baker Cooke, who died in 2007.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, November 13, 2018. at Wake Forest Church of God with the Rev. Philip Lyon and Rev. Mike Wells co-officiating. Burial followed at Wake Forest Cemetery.
Surviving are a son, Joseph W. Cooke Jr. and wife, Karen, of Wake Forest; a daughter, Sheila C. Gregory of Wake Forest; three sisters, Ruby Weathers and Ann Finch, both of Wake Forest, and Mary J. Lester of Raleigh; a brother, Leon Cooke of Youngsville; two grandchildren, Lindsey and Wesley Cooke; and a great-grandchild, Wyatt Cooke.

Carl Edward Williams

Carl passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home with family and his favorite four-legged buddies, Zeb and Angus, nearby.
Carl is survived by his wife of 52 years, Doris; his son, Dick Issermoyer and his wife, Maribeth; his daughter, Cindy Garrison and her husband, Drew; and his daughter, Carla Karboski and her husband, Ron. He had seven grandchildren, including Jenny, Joshua, Angela, Bernadette, Marina, Katie, and Veronica. He also met his three great-grandchildren, Lydia, Kaydin, and Chase, before he passed. He is also survived by his sisters, Edith and Nida, and his brother, Dick, and many nieces and nephews.
An avid golfer and sports enthusiast, Carl was very involved in his community. He founded the Christian Golf Association in Pennsylvania as well as the Chip and Putt Christian Golf League here in North Carolina. He volunteered in the Upward Basketball Program at Faith Baptist Church for over 13 years, where he served as commissioner, referee and head coach to many young “George’s” and “Matilda’s”.
Carl lived a long and happy life full of lots of laughter. His fun-loving personality and silly jokes will be missed by all who knew him.

Michael Ray Walston

Michael Ray Walston, 51, died suddenly on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. He was born in Wake County, the son of Patricia Hamm Walston and the late Douglas Walston. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Glenn Walston.
A funeral service was held Saturday afternoon, November 10, 2018, in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Faile officiating. Burial followed at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.
Michael is survived by his mother, Patricia H. Walston of Wake Forest; his significant other, Barbara Fleming of the home, and his sister-in-law, Rhonda C. Walston of Wake Forest.

Erin ‘Reagan’ Winans

Erin “Reagan” Danielle Winans, age 9, was born May 11, 2009 in Raleigh. She received her angel wings on November 4, 2018 at Transitions LifeCare in Raleigh, surrounded by family and friends. Reagan was the daughter of Roger and Shawna (Silvers) Winans of Wake Forest.
Reagan was a student at Jones Dairy Elementary School in Wake Forest. She loved school, her family and friends, her pets, and life in general. She was passionate about everything she believed in – even though a child, mature beyond her years. During her long and courageous battle with cancer, she touched the lives of countless people who will always cherish her memory and the lessons she taught.
Reagan is survived by her parents; her siblings, Kailan Michelle, Nathaniel Kieffer, and Morgan Sydney; her maternal grandmother, Shellyn Guthrie; her paternal grandparents, Parris and Carol (Adema) Geiser, and Roger A. Winans; and generations of aunts, uncles, and cousins along with special family friends and earthly angels who have loved and supported Reagan and her family.
No service is planned at this time. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.

Dorothy Perry Mullen, 87, of 1484 Clifton Pond Road died Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at Transitions LifeCare. Dot was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Dot was preceded in death by her husband, W.A. “Owen” Mullen of Bunn.
Graveside services were held Friday, November 9, 2018, at Pine Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev Steve Barham officiating.
Surviving are two daughters, Vickie Helms and husband, Randy, of Louisburg, Gail Hocutt and husband, Bobby, of Bunn; step-daughter, Carol Williams of Wendell; grandchild, Jessica Jeffreys and husband, Timmy; step-grandson, Travis Williams and wife, Rebekha; great-grandchildren, Caroline, Langdon and Molly Williams; also her treasured great-grandson, Connor Owen Hocutt.

Wayne J. Foreman

Wayne J. Foreman, age 77, of Raleigh passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at his residence with his loving family at his side. Wayne was born on March 26, 1941, in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, the son of the late Norman and Mayme (Karman) Foreman.
He attended local area schools and graduated with the Class of 1959 from Manitowoc Lincoln High School. Wayne also received his BBA degree in Management from Western Michigan University. On July 4, 1964 he married the former Wendy Stephens in Midland, Michigan. From 1974 until 2001, Wayne lived in Bethel, Connecticut then moving to Sun Lakes Arizona in 2001 and his second home in Wake Forest in 2002. He was employed at Kraft Foods in White Plains, New York as a purchasing manager for 32 years until his retirement.
Wayne was a member of the Jaycees and the National Management Association. He received the General Foods Chairman’s Award plus numerous purchasing awards for outstanding achievement. Wayne conducted several management development studies that were published in major personnel journals and newsletters. He enjoyed golfing, traveling and especially spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Wendy Foreman, Raleigh; three children, Lesa M. (Michael) Bredenberg, Raleigh, Scott D. Foreman, Norfolk, Virginia and Lori M. (George) Paddleford, Mesa, Arizona; one grandchild, Kayla A. Bredenberg; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Mardell Johnson, Greenfield, Wisconsin, Marlene (Steve) Hodgdon, Weston, Wisconsin; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Mayme Foreman.
A local memorial service will be held at 2 pm. Sunday, November 18, 2018, at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church on Falls of Neuse Road, Raleigh.

Morgan Lynne Allen

Morgan Lynne Allen, precious newborn daughter of David and Shelby Allen, was born Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, and gathered into the arms of Jesus just a few hours later.
Although she was with us such a terribly brief moment in time, she made an everlasting impact on all who know her. We cherish each minute we were able to speak to, sing to and cradle Morgan Lynne with all the love in our hearts. Our great comfort is knowing she is now perfectly alive with Jesus and one great day we will see her again and hear her sweet voice.
Morgan is survived by her parents, David and Shelby; her sister, Allison Marie Allen; her grandparents, Doug and Kathy O’Connell, Todd Allen and Clellie Allen; her uncles, Coy O’Connell, Jonathan Allen and Benjamin Allen; and her aunts, Caitlyn Allen and Caroline Allen. She is also survived by her great-grandparents, Jan Wingo, Jasper Rogers Sr., Polly Hart Garrison, Rebekah O. Rogers and Robert W. Allen Sr..
She is also remembered by a great host of cousins, great-aunts and great-uncles, friends of David and Shelby and their parents and scores of family in Christ, who prayed for and loved Morgan immensely.
David and Shelby would like to thank the doctors, nurses and other caregivers at Duke Birthing Center for the incredible love and medical care they provided during Morgan’s transition of life; and Kira Atwell Grantz of Blessed Reflections Photography who did so much more than take photos. David and Shelby are also incredibly grateful to the volunteers who sewed Morgan’s Angel Dresses and sewed or crocheted all the many hats and blankets and provided precious mementos. The family would also like to thank the care team at Bright’s Funeral Home, who have been like extended family during this difficult time.
A memorial service for Morgan Lynne Allen, as well as time to visit with the family, will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018, at Faith Baptist Church, 249 Holden Road, Youngsville.
