Martha Ann Webb

Martha Ann Webb, 82, of Youngsville passed away peacefully at WakeMed Hospital, surrounded by family, on October 2, 2017.
Martha Ann was born on June 20, 1935 in Rocky Mount to Walter and Madge Underwood. She married Thomas Webb on December 24, 1954.
Martha is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Thomas, and her daughter, Cindy Kleitsch. She is survived by her son, Danny F. Webb and daughter-in-law Steffani Webb of Kansas City, Missouri, and her daughter, Tammie Height of Hampstead; her grandchildren, Joseph Kelly, Michael Kleitsch, Daniel Webb, Amanda Webb-Upchurch, Joshua Kelly; and great-grandchildren, Tristan Kelly, Sophia Vittoria, Kana Kelly, Alyssa Kelly, and Savannah Upchurch.
Funeral Services for Martha Ann Webb were held at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home, 1051 Durham Road, Wake Forest, on Sunday, October 8, 2017. Burial was in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.
Lyman Franklin

Lyman Franklin was a World War II veteran and a member of the fleet in the South Pacific that liberated Guam from the Japanese. He was a chief petty officer and served on six different ships and eight different bases in the U.S. and abroad. He was also in the Korean War and conflict in Laos.
Lyman started his naval career as a baker and commissary man. He was the only man to receive the Naval Food Services Excellence Award – twice – and his picture is hanging today in the mess hall at the Patuxant River Naval Air Station in Maryland.
He retired from the Navy after 22 years and went to work as the manager of food services at the Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary until he retired after 20 years. Lyman was a mason, carpenter, taxidermist, leather craftsman, gardener and loved to play the guitar.
He was a former Wake Forest town commissioner, was on the board of directors for the Wake Forest Fire Department for 25 years and was a deacon at the Glen Royal Baptist Church. Perhaps he is best remembered as the Rabbit Man. He owned and operated a rabbitry and supplied rabbits for medical research to major universities and laboratories. He served for 50 years in the North Carolina Rabbit Breeders Association.
Lyman’s wife, Jessie Vee Friar Franklin, predeceased him in 2008 after 62 years of marriage. They were next-door neighbors and childhood playmates in Hickory and were married in 1946 when he was on leave from Siapan.
Funeral services for Lyman will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Faile will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary Cemetery.
Lyman is survived by his two daughters, Shirley Vee Franklin Keith and husband, Douglas Gray Keith, of Cary and Charlotte Ann Franklin of Arlington, Virginia; grandchildren, Douglas Gray Keith Jr. and wife, Rose Mary Clark Keith, Deborah Vee Keith Fish, David Franklin Keith and wife, Jennifer Kay Powell Keith; great-grandchildren, Taylor Vee Fish, Jessica Erin Fish, Douglas Gray Keith III, Daniel Franklin Keith, Cassidy Rae Keith, Catherine Powell Keith, David Michael Keith, Krystal Rose Clark and Brian Clark; sisters, Sadie Melvin and husband, Barnie, and Margie Lane; and seven nieces and nephews.
The family will be present from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 405 South Main Street, Wake Forest (919-556-5811).
Munette Wheelers

Munette Wheelers, 95, passed away on Tuesday evening, October 3, 2017. She was born in Granville County, the daughter of the late Jubal Lee Wheelers and Susie Allen Wheelers.
A graveside funeral service was held at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon, October 5, 2017, in the Mary’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Ms. Wheelers is survived by her sister, Winnie Wheelers, a number of nieces and nephews and special nephew, Milton Wheeler (Geraldine).
Flowers are accepted or memorials can be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Philip Edward Schroeder

Philip Edward Schroeder, 73, of Youngsville passed away early Saturday morning, September 30, at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. He was the husband of Carol (Pasternak) Schroeder, to whom he was married for seven blissful years.
Born on June 22, 1944 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Lester and Berta (Sharp) Katz. He was a graduate of Penn State University and spent most of his life in eastern Pennsylvania working at Mack Trucks and the family real estate business until relocating to North Carolina in 2012.
Always fascinated by the technical aspects of things, he was an antique clock enthusiast and repaired, restored, and built countless clocks and watches during his lifetime. He also enjoyed watching Penn State football and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Schroeder (Julie) of Raleigh and David Schroeder (Sarah) of Columbia, South Carolina; two grandsons, Ethan and Aaron; two brothers, David Katz (Ellen) of Scottsdale, Arizona and Greg Katz of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania; and four nieces and a nephew.

William Nicholas Ginocchio

William Nicholas Ginocchio, age 88, passed away at Hillside Nursing and Rehab on September 28, 2017. Bill was born to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ginocchio of New York City on December 1, 1928. Bill was very proud to be a U.S. Army veteran and a long time New York City employee. Those who know him will remember his love of old movies, diner breakfasts, garage sale bargains and good jokes.
Beloved husband of 65 years to Jean Ginocchio, Bill and Jean shared many wonderful memories from their life together in New York, New York, Northvale, NewJersey, and Wake Forest. He was a terrific father to William Frank Ginocchio and wife, Pamela, of Raleigh, Robert Ginocchio and wife, Joy, of Raleigh, and Michael Ginocchio and wife, Maryanne, of Pikeville. Bill will also be remembered as a playful grandfather to his six grandchildren, Brian Lattner, Jessica Ginocchio, Lauren Ginocchio, Nathan Jones, Evan Jones and Alissa Ginocchio.

Julia Pereira Ribeiro Pinheiro

Julia Pereira Ribeiro Pinheiro, 81, of Wake Forest passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017, at Transitions Lifecare in Raleigh. She was born on January 31, 1936 in Vila Franca de Xira, Portugal, to the late Manuel Francisco Ribeiro and Francisca Pereira Ribeiro.
Having been raised in a working-class family in a small town and with a loving younger sister, and later creating a family with a Portuguese Naval worker who was sometimes away for years at a time, Julia took on the role of caregiver from a very young age. She was hardworking, a talented seamstress and custom clothing maker prior to moving to the U.S., and devoted to her family and friends. She was committed to family unity and helped raise and care for many (children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and friends) and dedicated herself to helping her family however and whenever she could. Family unity and pride in her native country was everything to Julia and her legacy will continue. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend and will forever be missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday morning, October 11, 2017, at Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. Burial followed in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Pinheiro is survived by her children, José Pinheiro and wife, Michelle, of Wake Forest and Maria Relvas abd husband, José, of Wake Forest; grandchildren, Catarina “Cathy” Nguyen and husband, Tu, Michael Relvas and wife, Ashley, Amanda Pinheiro, Laura Pinheiro, Christopher Pinheiro and Alex Pinheiro; great-grandchildren, Alexis Green, Michael Green, Brooks Relvas, Kurtis Nguyen, Annalise Nguyen, Sean Nguyen and Jordan Nguyen; sister, Maria Lourdes Correia and husband, Manuel, of New Jersey; nephews, José Carlos Simao and Paulo Manuel Correia and wife, Nancy, all of New Jersey; and great-nieces, Gabriella Hope Simao and Olivia Ella Correia, both of New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raul Christina Pinheiro.

Roy Franklin Knight Jr., 65, of Wake Forest passed away October 9, 2017 at Duke Raleigh Hospital. He was born in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania to the late Roy Franklin Knight Sr. and Delores June Miller Knight. Roy traveled the world providing energy solutions for many people, building electrical substations and transmissions lines. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and will be greatly missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 o’clock, Thursday morning, October 12, 2017 at Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Wake Forest.
Mr. Knight is survived by his wife of 35 years, Anita “Micci” Knight; daughters, Sumer Schmitt and husband, Robert, of Lexington, South Carolina, Autum Knight of Wake Forest and Kelli Knight of Wake Forest; grandchildren, Noah Schmitt, London Schmitt and Emma Nakoneczny; sisters, Debbie Lorenz and husband, Jerry, of Pittsburgh, Pennyslvania, Gail Kreuzer and husband, Bill, of Slippery Rock, Pennyslvania and Lynn Staub and husband, Mark, of Pittsburgh; brother, Brian Knight and wife, Bobbi, of Raleigh; and step-father, Albert Jasick of Slippery Rock.
