Dennis Craig Bragg, 56, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at WakeMed in Raleigh. He was born in Granville County, the son of the late Frances Newton Bragg and Willie Henry Bragg Jr. Dennis was preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Wayne Bragg.
A funeral service was held at 1 o’clock Saturday afternoon, June 17, 2017, in the Chapel of Bright funeral Home with the Rev. David Averette officiating. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery in Franklinton.
Mr. Bragg is survived by a sister, Debbie Dorsey and husband, Tony, of Franklinton; a brother, Tommy Bragg and wife, Stacy, of Franklinton; sister-in-law, Lauren Bragg; nieces, Tanya Dorsey (Anthony), Emily Bragg and Amy Kidd, all of Franklinton; nephews, Jon Bragg of Knightdale and Gavin Kidd of Fayetteville; great-nephews and great-nieces, Unique Chavis, Destiny Chavis, Ayden Perry, Tylor Perry, Braylon Perry, Amiyah Green, Jackson Kidd and Dominic Kidd.

Paul T. Morris Sr.

Paul T. Morris Sr., 93, died Tuesday, June 13, 2017. Paul was born March 7, 1924 to the late Burton G. Morris and Luna Morton Morris. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II, receiving the Purple Heart. Paul retired after 28 dedicated years from A&P Grocery Stores.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Daphine Baker Morris; a daughter, Rose Marie Morris; sons, Kerry and Terry Morris; and grandson, Timothy Boone.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Wake Forest Church of God. A private burial followed in Woodland Baptist Church Cemetery.
Surviving are four children, Marie Senter of Wake Forest, Tom Morris and wife, Jewell. of Wake Forest, Wanda Boone and husband. Paul. of Louisburg and Tim Morris and wife, Cheryl ,of Louisburg; brother, Otis Morris of Wake Forest; and a sister, Elene O’Neal.

Lillian Mildred McCarthy, 95, died peacefully at home on Monday, June 12, 2017, surrounded by her loving daughter. Mildred was born October 3, 1921 to the late Bascom Lanier and Eudora Bradham Lanier.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Randall Edward McCarthy Jr.; brothers, Joe Brown Lanier, William Calvin Lanier and Albert Sidney Lanier; as well as her sister, Pauline Lanier Clifton.
Mildred worked her adult life as an accountant. She was treasurer and charter member of Wilmington Island Baptist Church which is now known as First Baptist Church of the Island. She enjoyed dominos, solitaire and UNO.
Funeral services and burial were held on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors Island Chapel, Savannah, Georgia.
Surviving are a daughter, Donna Maria Farmer and husband, Will, of Wake Forest; two sisters, Margie Lanier Way of Alabama and Christine Stubbs of Louisiana; nieces and nephews; her second family, Bubba and Kathy Hodges; and special grandchildren, Kelli Mills, Kimberly Sutton and Christopher Hodges.

Gaius Max Mangum

Gaius Max Mangum, 87, died on Friday, June 9, 2017, in Wilson. He is now pitching ball for God’s baseball team.
Max was born in Franklin County on September 16, 1929 to the late Samuel Gaius Mangum and Susie Bailey Mangum. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris M. Davis and Burma M. Pearce; a brother, Burley Mangum; sister-in-law, Janie Pearl Mangum; brother-in-laws, Edwin B. Davis and Worth Pearce; and a niece, Patsy Whitt.
Max graduated from Wake Forest High School and attended Wake Forest College. He was a member of Woodland Baptist Church.
Max is survived by four nieces, Suzanne W. Bailey, Emogene M. Kelly, Karen P. Wynn and Patricia M. Montague, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Graveside funeral services were held at 10 o’clock Saturday morning, June 17, 2017, in the Mangum Family Cemetery on Mangum Dairy Road in Wake Forest.

Jerry Meiselman, 83, died Friday, June 16, 2017, at Hillside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
A memorial service will be held at 11a.m. Thursday, June 22, 2017, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 830 Durham Road, Wake Forest.
Mr. Meiselman is survived by his wife, of 48 years, Catherine Josephine Meiselman of Wake Forest; daughter, Kathylynn Gariboldi of Raleigh; son, Steven Meiselman and wife, Karen Meiselman, of San Francisco, California; son, Paul Gariboldi of Dallas, Texas; daughter, M’lee Brooks and husband, Ronald Brooks, of Spring, Texas; grandchildren, Leah Gariboldi of Raleigh; Alex Brooks of Spring, Texas; Zhanna Brooks of Spring, Texas, and Ethan Meiselman of San Francisco, California; sister, Bernice Baer and husband, Raymond Baer, of New Hope, Pennsylvania; and niece, Robbie Lowenstein and husband, Bob Lowenstein, of New Jersey.

Ester Redd Yates, age 75, of Wake Forest passed away Friday, June 16, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was born in Mecklenburg County, Virginia to the late Hurley Ben Redd and Mattie Bagley Redd.
She loved her family especially her husband, children and she always gave a little extra love to her grandkids. Family meant a lot and she could often be found in the kitchen cooking meals or taking lots of photos of them. Mrs. Yates was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her.
Funeral services were held Monday morning, June 19, 2017, at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Historic Oakwood Cemetery, Raleigh.
Mrs. Yates is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Oscar Yates; daughter, Karen Yates of Wake Forest; son, Louis Yates of Newton; granddaughter, April Nicole Yates of White Lake; brother, Rodley Redd and wife, Cind,y of Raleigh; several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Mrs. Yates was preceded in death by her grandson, Kevin Mercer; son Donald Yates; and also four brothers.
