Garland Wayne Holbrook

Garland Wayne Holbrook, 60, of Youngsville passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 3, 2017. Mr. Holbrook was born in Wake County to the late Arthur Henry Holbrook and Ozie Lee Ray Holbrook and was the owner/operator of Trim4u Interior Trim. He loved his family and was always there for them. For several years you could find him coaching his grandson’s baseball team or just enjoying his grandchildren’s company. Mr. Holbrook was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and will be greatly missed by everyone.
A funeral service was held Wednesday morning, June 7, 2017, at Beulah Christian Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronnie Snead officiating. Burial followed in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Holbrook is survived by his wife of 42 years, Brenda Williams Holbrook; daughters, Jennifer Holbrook Sykora and husband, Keith, of Franklinton and Chasity Holbrook Harrison and husband, Ken, of Wake Forest; grandchildren, Tyler Williams, Bailey Williams, Kensley Harrison, Kaden Harrison, Dillon Sykora and Shelby Sykora; brothers, Curtis Holbrook of Youngsville, David Holbrook and wife, Cindy, of Bunn, Terry Holbrook and wife, Lori, of Durham and Charles Ray and wife, Charlotte, of Creedmoor; sisters, Sue Rochelle and husband, Bernice, of Wake Forest, Patsy Cash and husband, Donnie, of Durham and Janice Savage of Durham; brothers-in-law, Mike Williams of Youngsville and James Williams of Zebulon; and many nieces, nephews and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James Sherron, and brothers-in-law, Ronnie Williams and Randy Williams.

Marie DeMent passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at WakeMed in Raleigh.
She was born in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Erma Aycock DeMent and William Mack DeMent.
A graveside funeral service celebrating her life was held Wednesday morning ,June 7, 2017, in the Youngsville Cemetery with the Rev. Don Ward officiating.

Jacqueline Joyce Aukland
Rolesville
Jacqueline Joyce Aukland of Rolesville passed away on May 28, 2017. Jackie was born on December 29, 1941 in Clallam Bay, Washington.
Jackie was preceded in death by her mother, Opal Burgard, husband, Martin, her father, Howard Smith, her brothers, Keith Burgard and Larry Burgard and his wife, Donna.
Before moving to Raleigh, she was the secretary at her church in Billings, Montana and volunteered at one the local hospitals there. Jackie retired as an administrative assistant from General Parts Inc. on her 70th birthday in 2011.
Jackie’s passion was working with children. Over the years she volunteered at SDA schools as the school’s secretary, librarian, and even taught typing. She was involved in the Pathfinder’s program, and went on a couple of campouts with the girls. At church, she was always involved in the children’s ministries, including telling the children stories, planning the crafts for Vacation Bible School or organizing things for children’s church.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Frank; daughter, Jani Aukland Frasch and husband, Scott; grandson, Andrew Frasch and wife, Nikki; granddaughter, Elisabeth Frasch; and sister, Zella Ammon, and husband, Jerry.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, June 8, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bright Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 405 South Main Street, Wake Forest.
