Robert Joseph ‘Bob’ Keller

Wake Forest

Robert Joseph “Bob” Keller, 82, of Wake Forest passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017, at the Hock Family Pavilion. He was born on March 19, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Edwin J. Keller and Mary “Mayme” Gibbons Keller.

Mr. Keller was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Philips Healthcare after 40 years of service. Bob also was an avid lifelong Cleveland Indians fan. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be greatly missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday morning, March 14, 2017, at Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. A celebration of Bob’s life will also be held in Cleveland, Ohio at a later date.

Mr. Keller is survived by his wife of 60 years, Edythe “Edy” Giblin Keller; children, Connie Zupancic and husband, Robert, of Wake Forest, Karen Gilbert and husband, Bill, of Wake Forest and Tom Keller and wife, Debbie, of Cleveland, Ohio; grandchildren, Kelly Andreas (Mike), Jim Zupancic (Chris), Eric Zupancic (Robyn), Lindsey Zeleny (Victor), Lauren Ritzert (Jen), Jesseca Keller, Ally Keller and Holly Keller; and great-grandchildren, Kara and Henry. He was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Byrnett, and brother, Edwin Keller.

Janie Faye Tharrington Stewart

Wake Forest

Janie Faye Tharrington Stewart, 71, of Wake Forest passed away at WakeMed on March 11, 2017. Mrs. Stewart was born January 21, 1946, the daughter of the late Earlie Pugh and Virgia Hailey Tharrington. Janie was a member of Falls Baptist Church and worked many different jobs, including 25 years at Holden’s BBQ and a hostess at The Plantation Inn. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, March 14, 2017, at Falls Baptist Church.

Mrs. Stewart is survived by her husband, Dewey; son, Jason Stewart and wife, Stacie, of Louisburg; grandchildren, Skylar Chandler of Raleigh, Katelyne Stewart of Duncan and Taylor Lee Stewart of Louisburg; siblings, Mary Etta Fowler and Ernest Tharrington of Youngsville; special aunt, Gracie Oakley of Youngsville; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Crumpler “Prissy” Baldwin; sister, Shirley Tharrington Van Luven; and a brother, Rev. E.P. “Billy” Tharrington.

Leonardo Jimenez

Raleigh

Leonardo Jimenez, 93, died Tuesday, March 7, 2017. He was born November 6, 1923 in Colombia to the late Alejandro and Sevastiana Jimenez. Leonardo moved to the United States in 1963. He worked as an accountant for Grand Colombian Corp. for over 40 years until his retirement in 1985.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Jacqueline Jimenez.

A funeral mass was celebrated Saturday morning, March 11, 2017 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Wake Forest.

Surviving are his wife, of 66 years, Cecilia Lindado Jimenez of Raleigh; two daughters, Lourdes Saxon of New Jersey and her husband, Steven, and Myriam Mackey of South Carolina and her husband, Kevin; two sons, Jaime Jimenez of Wake Forest and his wife, Ruth, and Alexander Jimenez of Raleigh; and five grandchildren, Jaime Jr., Alexandra, Samantha, Steven Jr., and Stephanie.

Stephen Bobbio

Wake Forest

Stephen Bobbio passed away at Rex Hospital on March 8, 2017. He was born in Norfolk, Virgnia to the late Joseph Bobbio and Kathleen Hayes of Detroit, Michigan.

An academic at heart, he received his doctorate from William & Mary University and did his post-doctorate work at Brown University before becoming a lifelong professor. Inventor of scientific machines, friend to animals, and appreciator of art, Steve was an enigmatic and eclectic man who inspired many.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betty, of Raleigh, and daughter, Kathleen of Richmond, Virginia.

Patsy Mayfield Macon

Wake Forest

Patsy Mayfield Macon, 85, of Wake Forest passed away peacefully on Friday, March 10, 2017, at Transitions LifeCare in Raleigh. She was born in Pickens County, South Carolina to Jesse Earl Mayfield and Edna Whitt Mayfield.

Patsy attended Anderson College and worked as a telephone operator. During that time she met an Air Force Sergeant, Horace Macon, who had stopped by the house to deliver a message to her sister, June. The message was from June’s husband who was headed out of the country on a tour of duty. Soon after, she began dating and then married that sergeant in 1954 and moved to Wake Forest. Patsy loved baking cakes and bread, growing flowers (especially roses) and loved her family and friends dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2017, at Woodland Baptist Church. Burial of Patsy Macon and Horace Macon will follow in the Woodland Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be in the Woodland Baptist Welcome Center immediately following the burial service.

Patsy Macon is survived by her children, Melody M. Allen (Luke), Robin M. Whitt (Mitch) and Horace Macon Jr. (Amy); grandchildren, K. Sean Finch (Jen Vieceli), Jennifer Ball (Mitch), Sean Allen, Genevieve Dasher (Jimmy), Nicholas Macon and Emily Macon; great-grandchildren, Carson Ball, Shilo Carter and Mason Ball; and sisters, June Rochester and Susan Pitts (Lane).

She is preceded in death by her husband, Horace Macon; grandson, Garrett Whitt; and brothers, Jesse E. Mayfield Jr. and John R. Mayfield.

She was a member of Woodland Baptist Church and a member of Wake Forest Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #292 for over 50 years.

Nellie Guidry Cheramie

Wake Forest

Nellie Guidry Cheramie, 89, died Friday, March 10, 2017, at Carillon Assisted Living in Wake Forest. Nellie was born October 28, 1927 in Raceland, Louisiana to the late Jerome and Emma Collins Guidry. Mrs. Cheramie was a hairdresser for many years. She was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Wake Forest.

Nellie was preceded in death by her husbands, John Raybern Stokes, Ivy Ayo and Hilray Cheramie, along with her son, John Stokes.

A funeral mass celebrating Nellie’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2017, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.

Nellie is survived by a daughter, Cassondra Hite of Wake Forest and her husband, Ed; two sons, Paul Stokes of Louisiana and Mark Ayo of Florida; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Stephen Thomas Granberry

Youngsville

Beloved Stephen “Stevie” Granberry, 45, died Friday, March 10, 2017. He was a loving son, brother, friend, stepdad and uncle with a big kind gentle heart. He was a big teddy bear known for his quick witted humor, practical jokes and loved to bring laughter to all around him. He was a simple man, who loved football, playing cards, music and car racing. Stephen had a great love for family, friends, gatherings and was always open with affection. He had faith and God in his heart.

Stephen was preceded in death by his dad, Ricky Davis, and his Nana, Nell Garris.

A funeral service celebrating Stevie’s life will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Bright Funeral Home. Rev. Gary McNair will officiate.

Stevie is survived by lifelong friend, Angie Garrett and step-daughter, Shaina Madgett; his mother, Susan Bailey and step-dad, Craig; sisters, Leslie Davis and Jillian Davis (Michael Jones); brother, Cody Davis; nephews, Jarrett Privette and Trigg Jones; niece, Hailey Davis; aunts, Cynthia Godwin (Joe), Stephanie O’Connor (Tim), Lisa Allen (Allen) and Mikki Kreiner (Chris); uncles, Ray Granberry and Bill Garris; and many cousins.

Jesse Karl Osterhoudt

Raleigh

Jesse Karl Osterhoudt, 62, was born in Kingston, New York on October 7, 1954 and died in Raleigh on March 11, 2017. A businessman, father, husband, sports fan and political guru, he enjoyed conversation, boating, horseback riding and preparing Eagle Scouts for outdoors adventures.

Jesse was a Clemson graduate and an ardent Clemson fan and has many long loves throughout his life. He graduated Orangeburg, South Carolina High School as part of the first integrated class.

Atlantic Marketing, an innovative landscaping and insulation company, continues with the leadership of his surviving son, Donald Christopher Osterhoudt.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home, Wake Forest.

Surviving are his son, Chris of Raleigh; and a daughter, Jennifer Shawn Rogers of Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Irvin Boyd Dalzell

Wake Forest

Irvin Boyd Dalzell, 81, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017, at Rex Hospital. He was born in Broadlands, Illinois, the son of the late Helen David Dalzell and Wayne Dalzell.

Irvin was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of the Wake Forest Lions Club, the Wake Forest Jaycee’s and was very active with the Wake Forest Fourth of July committee.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Branch Dalzell; a sister, Phyllis Dalzell of Madison, Wisconsin; a brother, David Wayne Dalzell and wife, Peggy of Champaign, Illinois; his aunt, Lou David of Saint Joseph, Illinois; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends, George Kalas, Howard Hink and the Hilliard family.
