Carolyn M. Lewis
Carolyn Lynam Mitchell Memory Lewis, 80, of Nags Head, formerly of Wake Forest, died Monday, April 21, after a long illness.
She was born in Wake Forest and graduated from Wake Forest High School. She was employed by N.C. Department of Revenue and was property manager of Crosswinds of Atlantic Beach for over two decades. Carolyn was a member of Glen Royal Baptist Church in Wake Forest.
A memorial service will be held at 11 o’clock Friday morning, April 25, 2014, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Faile officiating.
Carolyn is survived by her son, Michael Mitchell and wife, Kathy; two granddogs, Marathon and Z-Bo of Kill Devils Hill; brother, Roy Lynam and wife, Donna, of Wake Forest; sister, Dr. Judy Wish and husband, Pete, of Fayetteville; sisters-in-law, Jackie Lynam of Baltimore, Md., and Joyce Marrett of Wilmington; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William M. “Smiles” Lynam and Mary Doris Upchurch Lynam; her beloved son, Al Memory; her husbands, Frank, Sam and Collis; her brothers, William “Bill” Lynam and Tony Lynam; and by her sister, Sandra Buffaloe.

Jeffrey A. ‘Jeff’ Mason
Jeffrey Alan “Jeff” Mason, 55, of Wake Forest passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014, at WakeMed. Jeff was born in Alamance County, the son of the late Joseph Iver Mason and Gladys Louise Murray Mason. He was a locksmith with Marshall’s Locksmith for over 30 years.
Funeral services were held at 3 o’clock Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Falls Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Terry Ashe, the Rev. Steve Barham and Miss Ashleigh Atkinson officiating. Burial was in the Falls Community Cemetery.
Mr. Mason is survived by his sisters and brothers, Brenda M. Wilkes and husband, Cecil, of Youngsville, Terry Glenn Mason and wife, Diane F., of Benson, Ricky David Mason and wife, JoAnn F., of Raleigh, Barry Wayne Mason and wife, Gloria, of Rocky Mount, Vicky Nessell and husband, Michael, of Zebulon and Tony Lynn Mason of Youngsville; nine nieces and nephews; and 13 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Shirley Liles Hood
Shirley Liles Hood, 76, of Zebulon passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at WakeMed. She was born in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Robert Liles and Nettie Jane Pearce Liles and was retired from ITT Telecommunications after many years of service.
Funeral services were held at 10 o’clock, Saturday, April 19, 2014, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Hopkins officiating. Burial was in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Hood is survived by her daughter, Shelia Hood Stone of Zebulon; significant other, Garland Hopkins of Zebulon; siblings, Robert M. Liles and wife, Billie Ann, of Eagle Rock, Brenda West and Mary O’Neal both, of Zebulon; grandchildren, Travis D. Hood of Youngsville, Jennifer Shambaugh of Middlesex and Lauren Putnam of Youngsville; four great-grandchildren; and her little dog, Booboo. She is preceded in death by her husband, M.D. Hood; son, Sherrill Dale Hood; and sisters, Ruby Louise Duke, Jane Hawley and Peggy Gay.
Pallbearers were Ryan O’Neal, Randy West, Mickey Holley, Jose Langunes, Josh Boone, and David Liles.

Bobby Allen
Robert W. “Bobby” Allen Jr., 59, of Wake Forest died Wednesday morning, April 16, 2014. He was born in Wake County and was a 1973 graduate of Wake Forest-Rolesville High School. Bobby was a life-long member of Wake Forest United Methodist Church and was a long-time employee of The Wake Weekly.
Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon, April 19, 2014, at Wake Forest United Methodist Church with the Rev. Helen Champion officiating. Burial was in the Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.
Bobby is survived by his father, Robert W. “Bob” Allen Sr. of Wake Forest; brothers, Greg Allen of Wilmington, and the Rev. Jimmy Allen and wife, Ginger, and Todd Allen and wife, Clellie, of Wake Forest; and 10 nieces and nephews: Davis Allen and wife, Elizabeth; David Allen, Olivia Allen, Jonathan Allen, Ruth Allen, Benjamin Allen, Margaret Allen, Mary Nancy Allen, Caitlin Allen and Caroline Allen. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret “Peggy” Allen.
Bobby played football at WF-R High School and continued to be an avid fan throughout his life. He enjoyed writing music and playing guitar.

Travis A. Torry
Travis Andrew Torry, 20, of Wake Forest passed away Monday, April 14, 2014. He was born in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Travis lived in Wake Forest since 2007 and was a 2011 graduate of Wakefield High School. Travis worked at Over The Falls Deli and Falls River Music. Music was Travis’ passion and was a special part of his life. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.
A celebration of Travis’ life was held at 1 o’clock Saturday, April 19, 2014, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home.
Travis is survived by his father and stepmother, Andrew and Tracy Torry of Wake Forest; mother, Méjeaan Brümmer of Cape Town, South Africa; sister, Justine Torry of The Isle of Man; brothers, Tristan Torry, James Torry, Jonathan Heck and Aidan Torry, all of Wake Forest; and good friends, the Taillon and May families.
