Edna Marie Creech

Wake Forest

Edna Marie Creech, 96, of Wake Forest and formerly of Lawnvale in Harlan, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016. She was the widow of Hyluard C. Creech who passed away in 1996. She was also proceeded in death by her daughter, Edith Banks, and grandson, Jeffrey Banks.

Funeral services will be held at Rest Haven Cemetery, Baxter, Kentucky, at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2016.

Mrs. Creech retired from the Belk Store in Harlan with 38 years of service where she managed the lingerie department for several years.

She is survived by her son, Earl Ronald Creech and his wife, Nikki, of Wake Forest; her granddaughter, Stacie Creech of Raleigh, and grandsons, Richard Banks of Greenback, Tennessee, and Robert Creech and his wife, Jennifer, of Glen Burnie, Maryland; two great-grandsons, Matthew and Jonathan Creech of Glen Burnie, Maryland; two sisters, Opal Miracle of Harlan, Kentucky, and Louise Walters of Hampton, Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 8300 Health Park #10, Raleigh, NC 27615.

Bobby Glenn Chalk

Franklinton

Bobby Glenn Chalk, 81, of Franklinton died Monday, April 11, 2016, at his home. Born September 8, 1934, in Creedmoor to the late Luther and Katie Wagstaff  Chalk, Bobby owned and operated Party-Pickup Convenience Store in Franklinton for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Roger; and by a sister, Madie Chalk May.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon, April 14, 2016, in The Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Woodlief  officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 51 years, Thelma Gilliam Chalk; a son, Darrell Chalk of Franklinton; a grandson, Blake Chalk of Franklinton; and a brother, Billy Chalk and wife, Peggy, of Youngsville.

Chris Ambrose

Youngsville

James Christopher Ambrose, 59, of Youngsville passed away Monday, April 4, 2016, at his residence. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of Kathryn Greer Ambrose and James E. Ambrose.

Chris was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was employed as a superintendent with McKenna Construction Company.

A memorial service celebrating his life was held at 12 o’clock Friday afternoon, April 8, 2016, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home.

 Steven Michael Strusky

Wake Forest

Steven Michael Strusky, 56, of Wake Forest, died unexpectedly at his home on April 6, 2016.

A memorial service was held on Monday, April 11, 2016, at 6 p.m. in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with Father Anthony DeCandia officiating.

Steve was born on December 10, 1959, in Danbury, Connecticut, to Geraldine Waterman Strusky and the late Stanley F. Strusky. He was educated in the Danbury Schools, graduating from Henry Abbott Technical School. He was the co-founder and former owner of Shock Electrical Company in Danbury.Upon relocation to North Carolina, he had been employed as electrical supervisor with Gilbane Industries at their Fort Belvoir, Virginia, project.  He was a passionate fan of NASCAR. Steve loved dogs, especially Mollie Michelle, Bandit (Deenie), and the late Buddy Michael. Mr. Strusky was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Wake Forest.

Steve is survived by his wife, Phyllis Naumann Strusky; daughter, Kelly Strusky of Wake Forest; sister, Sue Poulter, and her husband, Wayne, of New Milford, Connecticut; brother, Stan M. Strusky of Summerville, South Carolina; mother, Geraldine W. Strusky of Danbury; sisters-in-law, Jennifer N. Gouveia, and her husband, Dave, and Patty Naumann; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, Steve was preceded in death by his sisters-in-law, Jackie Naumann and Joyce A. Strusky.
