Stacie Michelle Alford

Youngsville

Stacie Michelle Alford, 32, of Youngsville passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016. She was born in Bartow, Florida, the daughter of Mary James and Michael Evans.

A funeral service celebrating her life was held at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, March 9, 2016, at the Harris Chapel Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Stacie is survived by her husband, Kevin Alford; her children, Brianna Maye, Abigail Maye and Bryce Maye; mother and step-father, Mary James and Bobby Chambers; father, Michael Evans; sisters, Tracey James, Danielle Boham and Ciara Nowell; two nephews, Tyler James and Connor Dickerson; and one niece, Alana Dickerson.

 Ruth Anna Denton

Wake Forest

Ruth Anna Denton, 74, of Wake Forest died on Sunday, March 6, 2016. She was born February 7, 1942, in Muncie, Indiana, the daughter of the late Harold Truitt Dunkin and the late Marguerite Blackburn Dunkin. Ruth worked in customer service at Bank One and as a waitress for many years. Ruth was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Alice Gleason.

Funeral services will be held in her hometown of Muncie, Indiana. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery in Muncie.

Ruth is survived by: her husband, of 50 years, William Lawrence Denton of Wake Forest; two sons, Robert Allen Denton and wife, Janet of Katy, Texas, and Chuck Denton and wife, Kelly of Raleigh; and a grandson, Alexander Lawrence Denton.

Gladys Marie Wall Timberlake

Youngsville

Gladys Marie Wall Timberlake, 76, of Youngsville passed away on Tuesday evening, March 1, 2016, at Rex Hospital. She was born in Wake County, the daughter of the late Lacy Bell Massey Wall and Leonard William Wall. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Timberlake.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon, March 4, 2016, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Faile officiating. Burial was in the Harris Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Timberlake is survived by her sisters, Alice W. Alford and husband, Luther Alford Jr., of Wake Forest, Jerry W. Bright and husband, Rodney, of Durham, and Peggy W. Privette and husband, Curtis, of Youngsville; a brother, William E. Wall and wife, Alva, of Wake Forest; and several nieces and nephews.

Michael ‘Mikey’ Todd Sanders

Spring Hope

Michael “Mikey” Todd Sanders, 51, of Spring Hope went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. He was born on October 19, 1964, in Logan County, West Virginia.

Mikey is survived by his wife, Benita “BK” Thomas Sanders; his parents, Malcom and Carol Davis; one brother, Roy Sanders and his wife, Donna; two sisters, Reba Davis and Dell Grimmett; one son, Michael Todd Sanders Jr.; two step-children, Ralph Ramey and Samantha Blankenship; 19 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by a son, Willard Ray Sanders; grandparents, Willard and Rebo Sansom and Henry and Inez Davis; and his father, Roy Chester Sanders.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

  Patsy Moody ‘Ma’ Champion

Wake Forest

Patsy Moody “Ma” Champion, 61, of Wake Forest went to be with the Master and Lord Jesus Christ on March 5, 2016. She was born March 11, 1954, to Frances Ray Moody and the late Clint Moody. She was preceded in death by her sister; Pam McElveen.

Patsy was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She had retired from NCDMV with 30 years of service. She was a Proverbs 31 wife, an amazing mother and grandmother who showed them Christ in every way. She always had a smile on her face and loved gathering with family and friends. She loved singing to the Lord in the choir, camping and watching birds at the bird feeder.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 4 o’clock Sunday afternoon, March 13, 2016, at Faith Baptist Church in Youngsville.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years; Johnnie Stewart Champion, her son; Robbie Champion of Wake Forest, her daughter; Lisa Caverly (David) of Youngsville, her grandchildren; Tyler Champion, Hunter and Brianna Caverly, and two brothers; Jerry Moody (Carolyn) of Garner and Mike Moody (Sue) of Youngsville.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church 249 Holden Road Youngsville, NC 27596.

Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the church.

Marilyn B. Brewster

Raleigh

Marilyn B. Brewster of Raleigh passed away at 92 years of age on February 29, 2016. Marilyn died comforted by her daughter and son-in-law in their home. Marilyn was born May 17, 1923, in Tacoma Washington, the daughter of Richard A. Blundell and Pearl J. Hoffman. She married Leland Ray Brewster on October 6, 1957, in Orinda, California, at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. Marilyn lived in Napa from 1957 to 2013.

Marilyn was a strong believer in education and attended Washington State University, Stanford University and Mills College. Marilyn was a practicing Occupational Therapist for many years. She worked for the United States Intelligence Agency in Wiesbaden, Germany, after World War II and traveled extensively to many countries.

Marilyn enjoyed reading, music, golf, dogs and gardening with a special affection for both Pavarotti and Phil Mickelson. She had a positive attitude toward life that was inspirational to many. Marilyn was a double cancer survivor. Marilyn was a very social person with many friends. She was active in St. Mary’s Episcopal Church for many years.

Marilyn was survived by her children, Christopher Brewster and Jennifer Gambino; her son-in-law Alfred Gambino; her grandchildren, Alexander Gambino, Mark Jamaal Nour and Michael Gambino; her great-grandchildren, Hunter Belizaire, Jamaal Nour and Juliette Nour; sister, Carol Miller, and brother-in-law Emmett Miller; nieces, Diane Miller and Gayle Miller-Janton and nephew-in-law Jay Janton; great-nephew, Andrew DeMartini; and great-niece Jacqueline DeMartini.

Marilyn’s life was celebrated on Tuesday March 8, 2016, at 2:00 at the Gardens in Wakefield at 12800 Spruce Tree Way. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to either Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation, www.mhopus.org, or the ASPCA, www.aspca.org/donate.

Shirley Temple Strickland

Franklinton

Shirley Temple Strickland, 80, of Franklinton went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 4, 2016. She was born December 28, 1935, in Raleigh, the daughter of Margaret Allen, and was a dedicated mother and grandmother.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, March 6, 2016, in The Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Donnie Cash officiating. Burial was in New Light Baptist Church Cemetery.

Shirley is survived by her daughters, Ann Sumner and husband, Herbie, of Franklinton and Joyce Ellington of Franklinton; a brother, Junior Allen of Franklinton; three grandchildren, Stephen, Blake and Brandy; and by a great-grandchild, Leo. She was preceded in death by three husbands, Nat Ray, Bard William Pittman and James Strickland.
