News from the chamber

A few more volunteers are needed for the youth financial literacy event. It takes a village (of volunteers) to run the Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce’s Foundation Reality of Money financial literacy events for middle and high school students.

We have two events coming up on November 9 and 10, and we still need a few more volunteers!

Anyone is eligible to participate, including those in the banking industry – this is a change from before. Training is provided, and you will be doing a good deed!

These events teach more than 600 youth how money works, how to manage credit and debt, and how to save and invest.

Make a positive impact and sign up to volunteer today! Call Liz Simpers at the chamber to find out about available shifts and to sign up.

In October students learned how to develop a personal brand. They created business cards, created a LinkedIn profile and learned how to network. Students also completed team building activities and critical thinking skills.
