The Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a new event in 2019 – a Family Expo to be held Saturday, March 23 at Richland Creek Community Church. It will be an opportunity for area residents to learn about summer and track-out camp, find a local pre-school, childcare, educational center, health care and other family-oriented businesses.
Along with the serious stuff there will be a lot of fun with bounce houses, face painting, food trucks and more.
Booth registration is now open, and those businesses registering by Jan. 15 will receive $50 off both prices over $300. Sponsorships are also available for those eager to market their business. Call the chamber office for complete details and the registration packet.

Great news! The Wake Forest Chamber Foundation for Common Progress has received a $95,000 grant from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for workforce initiatives.
The local foundation is one of only five foundations chosen from across the country to participate in the U.S. Chamber’s Foundation Education and Workforce Career Ready Lab. The grant will be used to implement a work-based learning program for high school students to better connect them with academic and experiential learning opportunities in our communities.
With the workforce challenges we face, chambers of commerce must lead, and we are extremely proud that our foundation will lead the charge in 29019 thanks to this grant. The foundation has only been in existence for three years but has proven itself as a laeder in the country for its educational programming and initiatives.

Congratulations to the Wake Forest Chamber Foundation for Common Progress on receiving a grant from Duke University! The Foundation is one of only 40 organizations to receive one of Duke’s “Doing Good in the Neighborhood – Community Care Fund” grants. The Community Care Fund supports competitive grants for diverse nonprofits working to make a difference across the Triangle. Nonprofits apply for funding annually, and a review team of Duke employees award grants of up to $5,000 to organizations with strong and innovative proposals.
The Wake Forest Chamber Foundation for Common Progress was established in 2015 as a 501c3 charitable organization. Specifically dedicated to educational pursuits, the Foundation offers a mix of programs with one common aim: to cultivate and expand the talents and skills of today’s youth and businesspersons within the local Wake Forest community.
Since its inception, the Foundation has gradually augmented and shaped its program agenda to the point where it is currently focusing on four core areas: leadership, workforce development, entrepreneurship and financial literacy.
The Foundation’s ultimate objective is to be Wake Forest’s preeminent educational resource and spearhead programs that contribute to a local workforce of empowered, altruistic business leaders, employees and entrepreneurs who are poised to guide their community through today’s hurdles and conquer tomorrow’s challenges.
A totally separate entity from its counterpart, the Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce, the Foundation relies exclusively on external corporate sponsorships, one-time, recurring or sustaining donations, and grants, from relevant and appropriate sources, to meet its various program funding goals.
