The Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation is now accepting applications for Leadership Wake Forest, a comprehensive program to engage, cultivate and motivate men and women interested in building a strong sustainable community.
Beginning in September, participants meet once a month for nine months to learn about Wake Forest’s history as well as current and future issues facing the town. Information is presented through panel discussions, on-site tours, hands-on activities, simulations, team discussions and Q&A sessions that provide a unique setting to meet local leaders. The program culminates with a group project that benefits the community.
“The program is appealing to long-time residents as well as those who have recently relocated to the area,” said Corey Hutcherson, vice president of community relations for the chamber. “It gives participants the opportunity to learn from community leaders and industry experts. At the same time, they make new friends and business contacts.” Participants meet for a day, once a month, from September through May, culminating in a class project.
Applicants with diverse backgrounds are sought from all sectors of the Wake Forest area. The cost to participate is $500 for chamber members and $600 for non-members. Some scholarships are available. For complete information, including the application, call Corey Hutcherson at 919-556-1519 or visit http://www.wakeforestchamberfoundation.org/leadership-wf.html.
