Members are invited on April 19 to the Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce’s most popular networking event, Business After Hours! This month’s event is hosted by O2 Fitness, with co-hosts City Barbeque and White Street Brewing Company. O2 Fitness will be offering tours and will also be giving away a 3-month and 6-month membership.
O2 Fitness at The Factory features high-quality cardio machines, strength-training equipment, unlimited group fitness classes, a personal training program (including two free Program Design sessions), upscale locker rooms, towel service, basketball court, Kids Club, and access to all 24 O2 Fitness locations.

On April 13, the Wake Forest Chamber Foundation will hold a Job Success 101 Seminar for students ages 16-20. A mini job fair will be held at the conclusion of the seminar. Businesses that are currently in need of employees or that will be hiring for summer positions are invited to have a free table at this event. Set up is on April 13 from 11:30 to 12:15 p.m., with the job fair running from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Lunch is included if you are set up by 12. Workplace sexual harassment and retaliation prevention training has never been as important as it is now. In North Carolina, 49.4 percent of all claims filed with the EEOC in 2017 were claims of retaliation. On April 25, a half-day training workshop will be held to educate the business community. This interactive and engaging training is designed to help employers recognize harassment and how to discourage and respond to it. Benita Clark, vice president for human resources and college safety at Wake Tech Community College, will lead this informative training.
The workshop is free for Wake Forest Chamber members and $25 for non-members, and will be held April 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Wake Electric’s community room, 100 South Franklin Street. Click for complete details and to register online.

There are still unsold tickets for the Community Raffle jointly sponsored by the Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce and Food Lion. Remember, the drawing will be held May 5. A $50 ticket gives you a chance at the 15 prizes, including the grand prize of $10,000. Tri-Area Ministry Food Pantry will receive $5,000.

Volunteers are needed for the 38th Meet in the Street arts and crafts festival to be held in downtown Wake Forest from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 5. The cost is $250 and you get your company logo on the back of the more than 100 volunteer shirts, recognition in the chamber newsletter and website and the opportunity to put marketing materials in volunteer good bags.
