The Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the Family Expo for the second year, and it will take place Saturday, March 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Richland Creek Community Church.
Register by Jan. 31 and you will get $50 off booth prices over $300. There will be both indoor and outdoor booths available. If you become a sponsor you will get premium booth locations and additional marketing exposure. There will be an outdoor kid zone with bounce houses and other kid-friendly activities.

Current and aspiring entrepreneurs are invited to apply for “Launch Wake Forest.” Launch Wake Forest is aimed at entrepreneurs who have a great idea but are unsure where or how to begin, as well as those who are already in business and need to learn how to progress to the next level. The initiative will offer 20 selected students a nine-week accredited Kaufman business course, business mentorship, planning and financial support, along with resources and connections to boost their current or potential business.
Three free information sessions will be held in January:
- Tuesday, Jan. 14; 6:00 -8:00 pm; Wake Forest Renaissance Centre Annex, 405 S. Brooks Street
- Thursday, Jan. 23; Noon – 1:30 pm; Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce, 350 S. White Street
- Thursday, Jan. 30; 8:30 – 10:30 am; Online Web Conference.
The application deadline is Friday, Jan. 31, 2020. The selection process includes an interview that will be scheduled in February. Please note: Current Rotarians are ineligible for Launch Wake Forest funding.

The Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to present the 2020 Small Business Summit & Resource Fair on Jan. 30 from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre. This event is created to help you start the year with a clear vision. It combines engaging marketing presentations with networking, idea sharing and a resource fair.
Keynote speakers are Sloane Heffernan, a two-time Emmy Award winning journalist and reporter at WRAL-TV, and Chisa Pennix Brown, a business coach, community outreach and social media expert with Lady Bizness.
The schedule is registration at 2 p.m.; The Business of Storytelling at 2:30; Resource Fair and refreshment break at 3:30; Telling your Story on Social Media at 4; and Resource Fair and refreshments from 5 to 7.
