News about the chamber

Join the Women’s Business Alliance on August 22 for our Retail Therapy Social. Sip wine. Shop local. Give back. Feel good. It’s all happening from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Sutherland. Bring your girlfriends for a fun night out. This event is open to the public and all are invited to attend!

Retail Therapy is a way to showcase our member businesses while raising money for local nonprofits. You can enjoy sipping wine while shopping, our members get marketing exposure and our nonprofit partners receive a portion of the sales. Everyone wins at Retail Therapy.

How does it work? A $20 advance donation ($25 at the door) gives you entry to the the event and one beverage ticket. Raffle tickets are $1 each and there are plenty of prizes to go around including gift cards to many of our shopping partners. The wine is provided by POUR Bar Services and there will be light hors d’oeuvres. At checkout, you’ll choose one of three charities to support with your purchase.

The charities to choose from are:

O Lord Help Us which mentors and empowers women to be who they are created to be. They provide meetings, mentor groups and an employment program for young women who have aged out of foster care.

Cancer Shucks contributes to families dealing with cancer in Wake Forest and surrounding communities, assisting in ways that affect the family’s day-to-day ability to maintain order in their home as well as their lives, i.e. providing meals, cleaning homes, yard maintenance, transportation, etc.

Hope House is a place of hope and assistance to children in the Wake Forest Community. Begun in 2011 as a vision of Dr. Enoch and Minister Marion Holloway, Hope House’s primary mission is to reach the youth and help them improve their life skills educationally, socially and spiritually.

The shopping partners include Vitzsie Boutique, Glam at Galleria, Lily Mae’s Boutique & Gifts, Arrow Tree Boutique, Help Me Rhonda Interior LLC, Beautiful Chaos Mobile Boutique, My Fashion Sherpa, Style House Designs and The Nesting Spot.
