Construction is underway at Wake Forest Crossing shopping center for buildings that will house Ross Dress for Less, Michael’s and TJ Maxx. Collins and Arnold Construction out of Atlanta, Georgia, is also erecting two other buildings for unnamed tenants.
The new stores will flank the existing Kohl’s at 12620 Capital – Ross at 12614, Michael’s at 12626 and TJ Maxx at 12632. The stores for future tenants are at 12610 and 12646 Capital.
Store A will be the largest at 27,339 square feet but the Ross building will be the most expensive, $2 million. Store B is quite small at 4,872 square feet.
Altogether, the five stores will add over $7 million to the town’s tax base. Collins and Arnold paid $190,438.75 in fees for the five buildings.
During October the Town of Wake Forest also issued a permit to Evergreen Construction Company of Raleigh for the Huntington Senior Apartments at 1887 South Franklin Street. There will be 84 units. The improvement value is listed at $5,326,268, the builders paid fees of $310.459.24 and the structure will have 94,874 square feet. No rezoning was necessary.
The town also issued permits to Jirjis Construction for a Meineke Car Care Center at 2604 Teletec Plaza along Capital Boulevard and to Southern Retail Construction for a Christian Brothers Automotive building at 1751 Heritage Center Drive.
