NC Green Power will be at the market

If you shop at the Wake Forest Farmers Market on Saturdays you probably have more than a passing interest in assuring we pass on a clean beautiful North Carolina to our children and grandchildren.

This Saturday representatives from the all-volunteer NC Green Power will be at the market to talk about some of the ways individuals can help support a cleaner future for our state.

There will be lots of green at the market – spinach, kale, bok choy, a variety of lettuces, zucchini, green onions, swiss chard – and a few tomatoes.

Eggs are growing scarcer right now, but there is still a plentiful supply of meats – chicken, beef, pork, goat and rabbit – from several vendors.

There is a lot of variety – cheese, locally-roasted coffee, sweet baked goods, baked good without gluten, breads, cool drinks, granola, fresh-cut flowers and empanadas.

The market is open from 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday in the OneCare Inc. parking lot behind CVS which is also a used-car lot. Park carefully and remember pet dogs are not allowed in the market area. There is an exception for service dogs.

The Wake County Master Gardeners will answer your gardening questions and provide soil test kits.

See it on Facebook and at www.wakeforestfarmersmarket.org or call 919-671-9269 for information.
