Members appointed to 13 boards

Tuesday night the five Wake Forest commissioners appointed members to 13 advisory boards, including two boards new this year, the Cultural Resources Advisory Board and the Technical Advisory Board.

The Cultural Resources Board will focus on the town’s new cultural arts center, the Renaissance Centre in Renaissance Plaza on Brooks Street, which just celebrated its first year of operation. The Technical Board grew out of the desire for high speed internet connections throughout town and for advice on the ever-new technology available.

There are still some vacancies on boards, including the Urban Forestry Board. Urban Forestry Coordinator Jennifer Rall, who is new in her job, told the commissioners she hopes they find more members soon because “I can’t plan Arbor Day by myself.”

The appointees named last night are:

Board of Adjustment – William “Bill” Fisher, who is the current member for the ETJ seat.

Design Review Board – Matt Hale was reappointed for a second term and Jim Sherrer was appointed for his first term.

Planning Board – Dehaven Fields was reappointed to his first full term, Edward Gary was appointed to his third term, and Charles “Chuck” Moseley Jr. and Colleen Sharpe were appointed to their first term. Sharpe fills the ETJ seat vacant since William Fisher’s term ended. This makes a full nine-member board.

Cemetery Board – The action Tuesday leaves one seat vacant. Three returning members – Bradley Baker, David Lucey and Alan O’Shaughnessy, the chairman – were the only applicants.

Cultural Resources – The board appointed nine new members to the new board. They are Irene Burke, Wendy Callahan, “Cally” Carolyn Curtis, Cynthia Davis, Jennifer Davis, Edward Herrelko III, Mark Koziel, Dianne Laws and Mary Petretich.
