Wake Forest has always been known for the neighborly way people treat each other, and the town’s Human Relations Council is extending that to include newcomers by holding Good Neighbor Day each September.
This will be the ninth year that people will gather in Holding Park – find it where West Owen Avenue meets South Main Street – for an afternoon of free food, fun, music and games. The event runs from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 21, and every family in town is invited.
One highlight is always the announcement of who is this year’s winner of the Good Neighbor Award. Neighbors and friends nominate people who improve the quality of life in town through their actions and words.
The rain date for the event is Sunday, Sept. 28.
