Nineteen candidates for state and national office, including current U.S. Representative George Holding and U.S. Senate candidate Debra Ross, will be at the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre Wednesday evening, Oct. 19, for a meet and greet event from 6 to 8 p.m. Organized by the Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce, it is a free event open to the public.
The candidates who have confirmed they will attend are listed here. If there is no party designation, that is because there is no designation of party for those seats on the Wake County Board of Elections list of candidates on its website.

– Marilyn Avila, the Republican incumbent in state House District 40
– Chad Barefoot, the Republican incumbent in state Senate District 18
– Mike Causey, the Republican challenger for N.C. Insurance Commissioner
– Laurel Deegan-Fricke, the Democratic challenger for state Senate District 15
– Bob Edmunds, an N.C. Supreme Court Associate Justice seeking re-election
– Terence Everitt, the Democratic challenger for state House District 35
– George Holding, the Republican incumbent in U.S. House District 2
– Bob Hunter, a Republican who is seeking re-election to the N.C. Court of Appeals
– Joe John, the Democratic challenger in state House District 40
– Abe Jones, a Democrat who is seeking Hunter’s seat on the N.C. Court of Appeals
– Chris Malone, the Republican incumbent in state House District 35
– John McNeil, the Democratic challenger for U.S. House District 2
– Charles Meeker, the Democratic challenger for N.C. Commissioner of Labor
– Bryant Paris is seeking election to the N.C. District Court District 10
– Deborah Ross, the Democratic challenger for a U.S. Senate seat
– Walter Smith, the Democratic challenger for state Commissioner of Agriculture
– Linda Stephens is seeking election to the N.C. Court of Appeals
– Valerie Zachary, a Republican who is seeking re-election to the N.C. Court of Appeals
