Marshall, Stein join for Senior Scam Jam

NC Attorney General Josh Stein and NC Secretary of State Elaine Marshall will headline a distinguished panel of presenters at the Seniors at Risk: 21st Century Scam Threats, Preventions and Solutions seminar – also known as Senior Scam Jam – on Tuesday, April 30, from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre.

The event is free, but pre-registration is required at www.tfsnc.org/events no later than Tuesday, April 23.

Senior Scam Jam will feature several prominent experts discussing useful ways attendees can protect themselves, clients, and loved ones from financial, technological and other types of fraud that typically impact senior adults. Other featured speakers will include Wake Forest Mayor Vivian Jones; Stephanie Bias, NC Department of Insurance; John Maron, NC Department of the Secretary of State; and Hugh Harris, NC Department of Justice.

Among the topics they will discuss are Medicare and healthcare fraud, counterfeit prescription drugs, and pyramid and Ponzi schemes, internet, investment, lottery, and sweepstakes scams and much more.
