Look for greens in February at the market

This is definitely not time for greens in North Carolina, though our variable weather could change to balmy next week. But do not expect spinach or kale or collards this Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Wake Forest Farmers Market.

Regardless of the greens situation, the market will be open from 10 a.m. to noon in the parking lot behind CVS where you will find a wonderful array of meats, everything from Andouille sausage to rabbit, and there are the fresh ground coffee, the cheese, the eggs, the knitted goods, the wooden stools and tables – and always a surprise of some kind.

The market is open with winter hours, 10 a.m. to noon, every Saturday from December through January, February and March. Its permanent location is the OneCare Inc. parking lot along North White Street behind CVS.

Keep track of all the hours, all the events and all the vendors on Facebook or at www.wakeforestfarmersmarket.org.
