Koinonia selling mums, pumpkins, wreaths

The Koinonia Foundation of Wake Forest is selling locally grown pumpkins, gourds, mums, hay bales and holiday wreaths for fall and Christmas in its annual Pumpkin Patch held on the lawn of the Wake Forest Museum at 414 North Main Street.

The hours are Wednesday, Sept. 25, to Sunday, Sept. 28, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 29 from 12 to 4 p.m.

Becky Parsons, Koinonia board president, says 100 percent of the money raised will go toward helping neighbors in crisis.

“We give emergency benevolent, one-time assistance directly to individuals who struggle with lack of shelter, food, clothing, unmanageable utility bills, medical assistance payments and other family needs,” said Parsons.

Besides the annual Pumpkin Patch, the Koinonia Foundation raises money annually during its Koinonia Cares Charity Auction planned for March 7, 2020. The 100-percent volunteer Board of Directors grants funding to local nonprofits and fulfills personal benevolence requests as part of its mission to care for neighbors in crisis within the greater Wake Forest, Rolesville and Youngsville communities.
