If you are already downtown for the Mardi Gras Festival or if you are a Cougar Booster, you will want to be at the Depot Parking Lot on South White Street at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, to join the Cougar March and Community Celebration to honor the 2014 Wake Forest High School football team.
Last fall the team advanced to the 4AA state championship in Winston-Salem, where it lost to Charlotte’s Mallard Creek for the second year in a row. The team has also been in the eastern regionals for three of the past five seasons.
The march with fans, family members and team supporters behind the Wake Forest High School Marching Band, the high school cheerleaders and the team will go from the parking lot to Centennial Plaza in front of Wake Forest Town Hall on Brooks Street. There will be a few speeches and a lot of cheering.
