Halloween Boo Bash will be held downtown

The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department will host its annual Halloween Boo Bash Saturday, Oct. 19, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in Downtown Wake Forest.

You read that right. The Boo Bash is coming to downtown!

Presented by Capital Chevrolet, the Halloween Boo Bash is a free, family-oriented festival for children ages 12 and younger. After taking place for several years at E. Carroll Joyner Park, the popular event needed room to expand. Downtown is making that possible with “Sponsors Trick or Treat” along East Owen Avenue, food trucks along South Brooks Street, and games, inflatables, a photo booth, and a variety of ghostly games and activities on the Town Hall Campus, 301 S. Brooks St.

Costumes are optional, but the best outfits will be featured on the Town website and social media pages. For more information about the Halloween Boo Bash, visit https://bit.ly/WFBooBash.

(A local business, Broadsides and Brews has added the skeletons of various sizes in various positions on their building.)

 Food Trucks

Several food and dessert trucks will be onsite, including Not Just a Fry Guy, Hollywood Taco Shop, Will & Pop’s, GypZea Maize Kettle Corn, and Crazy Beans Coffee.

 Parking

The Northern Wake Senior Center (235 E. Holding Ave.), Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (parking lots along South Avenue and North Wingate Street), and Wake Electric (100 S. Franklin St.) have graciously agreed to offer free parking during the Boo Bash. Free parking will also be available along several side streets and parking lots throughout downtown Wake Forest and beyond. Please note: some parking lots may appear to be public, when in fact they are private, such as the Renaissance Plaza parking lot. Read all signage in the parking lot to determine what type of lot you are using. Private lots are intended for business patrons only. Public lots that are open to Boo Bash attendees are clearly marked.

Accessible parking (by identification only) will be available at The Forks Cafeteria & Catering, 339 S. Brooks St.

Anyone planning to attend the Boo Bash is strongly encouraged to view our Boo Bash Downtown Parking Map and Boo Bash Top Places to Park on the Town website at https://bit.ly/WFBooBash.

Halloween Trick-or-Treating is Always October 31

On a related note, the Town of Wake Forest often receives inquiries concerning when families should go trick-or-treating. Since Halloween is always October 31, that’s the day the Town encourages families to go door-to-door in costumes for candy and fun – regardless of the day of the week on which it falls. The Wake Forest Police Department also recommends that little ghosts and goblins trick-or-treat between 6 and 8 p.m.
