Wake Forest Police Department Turkey Drive
Wow! Maybe double wow! Wake Forest residents outdid themselves responding to the annual turkey drive, far outstripping any past donations.
On Monday, Nov. 25, the officers gave away 960 turkeys, 500 bags of groceries and over 100 pounds of sweet potatoes. Last year on Nov. 19, there was a new record which has been eclipsed this year. Last year the department gave away 806 turkeys, one for each family, 370 bags of side dish items provided by Living Word Family Church and a few thousand pounds of sweet potatoes donated by Wake Forest Presbyterian Church.
Officer Michael Sattler has been organizing the turkey drive since 2007, and now have been able to donate about 8,000 turkeys. He and his fellow officers who helped deserve our thanks. You can reach him at 919-795-7270 or msattler@wakeforestnc.gov.

Wake Forest Christmas Parade
The Wake Forest Christmas Parade is on Saturday, December 14th. The parade kicks off at 1 p.m. in downtown Wake Forest. Tri-Area Ministry Food Pantry is marching in the parade again this year.
We need volunteers to help decorate our truck and to march with us in the parade. It’s a short route down South White Street, and we’ll be handing out beads and holiday candy to the paradegoers. The event is rain or shine.
Please plan to be at the TAM building between 10 and 11 to help decorate the truck and by 12:30 to march in the parade. East Holding will be closed to traffic at 10 a.m., so you may have to park offsite and walk to the building.
This is a fun event – please come help us celebrate the holiday season! For info, please email us at info@triareaministry.com
THANK YOU for your strong support. Together, we can #StopHungerFeedHope
