This will be the 44th year a group of volunteers with some financial help from the Town of Wake Forest, sponsors, individual contributors and the gate and concession proceeds from last year’s celebration provide two days of entertainment for thousands. There is no charge for the events on the second day of the Fourth, this year Tuesday, July 4, the children’s parade along North Main Street beginning at 10:30 a.m. followed by Art-in-the-Park and Games-in-the-Park, Holding Park. This year there will also be several inflatables at the next-door R.H. Forrest ball field.
There is still time to volunteer to help with the festivities, and this is an excellent way for newcomers to learn about the town and meet people. Get in touch with Fourth Chairman Rob Mitchell at (919) 925-0375 or via email at WFJuly4th@aol.com to volunteer or donate.
