Two Wake Forest business owners helped break ground on Wednesday, April 17, for a new retail center at 1021 Forestville Road where their existing businesses will relocate this fall.
Ellie Penner, owner of Sole Dimensions, and Sarah Boulton, owner of Body Bliss Salon & Spa, will be the first tenants in the new Forestville Square retail building across the road from Heritage High School that is being developed by Robert Shaar of Optimal Equity Corporation. Shaar has developed other local retail centers including the buildings that house buku Wake Forest, Wine & Beer 101 Wake Forest and Wake Forest Smiles Family Dentistry.
Sole Dimensions, a specialized retail shoe store with products that help maximize sports performance and relieve foot pain, is now at 10560 Ligon Mill Road, Suite 101. In its new location, Sole Dimensions will have double space, 3,000 square feet.
Penner, a certified pedorthist who opened her Wake Forest business in 2009, offers foot assessments and comprehensive plans to improve patients’ ability to walk, run and move pain-free and sells running shoes as well as lifestyle footwear including sandals, casual, and dressy shoes.
She offers specialized services that attract clients from Virginia, South Carolina and as far away as Florida. The new, more visible location will give Wake Forest and the surrounding area better access to Penner, whose customers call her the “foot whisperer.”
“The new location of Sole Dimensions will allow us to add another certified pedorthist, expand our orthotic lab, include a kid’s corner and sell more comfort-brand shoes,” Penner said.
The new Forestville Square retail center will also be the new location for Body Bliss Salon & Spa, a full-service salon and spa that provides a whole-body experience to clients in a professional, clean and comfortable environment.
Services offered include haircuts, styling, color, massage, body treatments, nails, waxing, tanning, facials and peels, bridal makeup & hair, and spa packages.
Boulton, a master stylist, extension specialist and makeup artist, joined Body Bliss as a co-owner in 2013 and became full owner in 2018.
Now at 10520 Ligon Mill Road in Wake Forest, Body Bliss will increase in size from 2,400 square feet to 3,500 at its new Forestville location.
Boulton said the new location for her salon will allow for better space utilization and customer comfort. “The new and increased square footage will allow us to elevate our guests’ experience with an improved flow for relaxation. We anxiously await the opportunity to better serve our community,” Boulton added.
