There will be a public flu shot clinic on Thursday, Oct. 16, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Wake County North Regional Center on East Holding Avenue.
The cost is $30 for the vaccine that protects against seasonal flu andH1N1 flu, available as a shot or nasal spray. The cost for the high dose flu vaccine recommended for older people is $60.
There is no charge for uninsured pregnant women and children who qualify for the Vaccines for Children Program (VFC) or for county staff who present their badge. You can pay with cash or a check, and the clinic accepts payment through Medicaid, Medicare Part B, NC Health Choice or Blue Cross Blue Shield.
If you cannot make it to this clinic, the NRC will be holding weekly clinics with flu shots by appointment only. Call 919-562-6300 to make an appointment.
There are also clinics each week at the other regional centers in Zebulon, Fuquay-Varina and Cary, and at the Public Health Center in Raleigh at 10 Sunnybrook Road.
