The Mystery Book Club will meet Thursday, April 25, at 11 a.m., and this month’s selection is “Descent” by Tim Johnston.

The Classics Book Club will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, and discuss “Lord of the Flies” by William Golding.

Independent Bookstore Day will be celebrated Saturday, April 27, at 10 a.m. with exclusive items, giveaways, trivia, Peppa Peg (and George). The fun lasts all day. Peppa and George will be at our 10:30 a.m. story time.

The Author Event on Tuesday, April 30, at 6:30 p.m. will feature John Sean Doyle, a poet and lawyer who taught positive psychology at North Carolina State University for nearly a decade. Whether writing about work or parenting, home or hardship, Sean’s essays are invitations to inject more hope, affection and meaning into the world. They are about recovering a reverence for being and creating a culture of kindness.
