Bigger, better, more of everything. That is what people are saying when they see the lineup for the 2016 Business Expo planned for tomorrow – that is Thursday, Oct. 27 – from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Richland Creek Community Church on Burlington Mills Road.
And you can do good at the same time by taking nonperishable food to the free event to help restock the shelves at Tri-Area Ministry Food Bank. It needs lots of everything: cereal, oatmeal, tuna, pasta, canned vegetables, canned fruit, soup, diapers and baby wipes, peanut butter, jelly, spaghetti sauce, canned meats, grits, rice, macaroni and cheese, dried beans, crackers, flour and sugar. Bring what you can but no glass jars, please.
At the Expo sponsored by CenturyLink and presented by the Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce and the Rolesville Chamber of Commerce, the door prizes are pretty nifty:
- Traeger Elite 22 wood pellet grill with accessories, donated by B & W Hardware
- 3 day/2 night Charleston vacation, with hotel accommodations, a carriage ride, walking tour, and tickets to the aquarium, donated by AAA Wake Forest
- Westinghouse 5500 watt generator, donated by Engine Masters Outdoor Power Equipment
- Thanksgiving meal for eight, donated by Lowe’s Foods
There are seminars about car buying presented by Christ Leith Automotive, a cooking seminar presented by Gooey’s American Grill, and one about home gadgets presented by Sam’s Club.
You can browse through more than 115 booths manned by local businesses, nonprofits and government agencies.
And you always want to know about the food. This year the samples will be provided by Simply Crepes, Chick-fil-A, Gooey’s American Grille, Lowe’s Foods, Real McCoy’s and Hand Me Down BBQ.
There is plenty of parking and a lot to enjoy.
