No discussion as board OKs every item

There was no discussion Tuesday night as the Wake Forest commissioners unanimously approved every item on the agenda, including the rezoning for a portion of the Stonegate at St. Andrews subdivision.

The Stonegate rezoning amended a conditional use permit to change the plan from 153 townhouses to 71 single-family homes. The original four conditions were carried forward and a fifth was added, which reads: “Until such time as Greenville Loop Road is connected to Forestville Road, the developer shall construct a temporary emergency vehicle access from Forestville Road to Street C.”

Action on a petition for annexation by landowners along Copper Beech Lane, a dirt road south of and parallel to Oak Grove Church Road, was postponed until June at the request of Assistant Planning Director Chad Sary, who said a project involving the land would be before the board then.

The board did approve the annexation of the land along Capital Boulevard owned by Irma and Stan Kearney, where they operate a car sales business.

The commissioners agreed to an installment purchase agreement with BB&T to borrow $505,035 to purchase vehicles, a service truck, a track loader, an excavator, a soil compactor and a knuckleboom truck.

They also approved resolutions authorizing the proposed bond referendum set for November to go forward.

They agreed to hold a public hearing about a Futures Fund Grant to 3 Phoenix during the June 17 board meeting.

At the close of the agenda, the board went into a closed session to review the town manager’s performance and that of the attorney firm. They went back into open session to extend Williams’ contract for a year with no merit increase.
