The Wake Forest Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) and the Wake Forest Woman’s Club will present their biennial Christmas Historic Home Tour on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 1 to 7 p.m.
Offered only in even-numbered years, the Christmas Historic Home Tour is a self-guided tour featuring several Wake Forest homes and other properties decorated for the holidays and open for viewing. This year’s event will also offer free bicycle rickshaw and horse drawn carriage rides, wonderful Christmas music and more.
Advance tickets are now on sale for $16 (price includes tax) and are available for purchase online at www.wakeforestnc.gov/christmashometour.aspx and at the following area locations:
- The Cotton Company, 306 South White Street
- For Old Times Sake Antiques, 223 South White Street
- NC Specialty Shop, 150 South White Street
- Olde English Tea Room, 219 South White Street
- Wake Forest Coffee Company, 156 South White St.
- Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce, 350 S. White Street
- Wake Forest Historical Museum, 414 North Main Street
- Wake Forest Town Hall, 301 South Brooks Street
Tickets will be available for $22 each on the day of the tour at the Wake Forest Historical Museum, 414 N. Main St. Well-mannered children under the age of 12 will be admitted free.
Android and iPhone users can have a handy pocket guide to this year’s Christmas Historic Home Tour in the palm of their hands by downloading the Town of Wake Forest app and using the app’s “Christmas Historic Home Tour” function. Designed to provide smart phone users with useful information about this year’s tour, the function offers instant access to contact and ticket information, as well as tour directions and news.
IPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, and Android users can download the town’s free app by searching for “Town of Wake Forest” on iTunes, in the iPhone app store, or in Google Play or by scanning the appropriate QR code provided at www.wakeforestnc.gov/app.aspx.
Wake Forest is also offering email updates about this year’s tour through E-Notifier, the town’s free email subscription service. Anyone interested in receiving announcements about the tour can sign up for free at www.wakeforestnc.gov/enotifier.aspx.
