Charity Day 2019 Saturday

The physicians and staff at Wake Endoscopy Center are sponsoring Charity Day 2019 on Saturday, March 30, at the Wake Forest Endoscopy Center at 10540 Ligon Mill Road, Suite 109, in honor of Colon Cancer Awareness Month.

We are pleased to announce that our physicians, staff and certified nurse anesthetists will all be donating their time this great cause.

We are asking our referring physician practices to refer their patients who either do not have insurance or simply cannot afford to have their screening examination. Our goal is to increase the availability of this important preventative test, especially for those who have delayed screening due to its cost. Once referred through proper channels by their primary care physician, our office will contact the patients for this “heart-to-heart” event.

Among cancers that affect both men and women, colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States. Every year about 140,000 Americans get colorectal cancer and more than 50,000 people die from it. The sad part here is that these deaths are potentially preventable. Sadly, only 60 percent of patients eligible for a screening colonoscopy get it done.

Our physicians and staff at Wake Endoscopy and Wake Forest Endoscopy are committed to the fight against colorectal cancer in our own community by sponsoring Charity Day 2019. This year’s national campaign is “Don’t Assume.” We will use that campaign locally to let our own community know that just because you don’t have insurance, Don’t Assume you can’t get your preventative test Performed. Don’t Assume you can’t afford it. Don’t Assume you can’t participate in our local awareness.
