The editor suspects there are already men and women working to raise the financial and other support for a campaign for a Wake Forest Board of Commissioners seat and some others who may start to consider such a campaign.
In 2023 town voters will elect three commissioners, either returning the current officeholders Jim Dyer, Chad Sary and Adam Wright for another term or ousting one, two or three in favor of new faces.
The Gazette has not asked the current three commissioners whether they intend to run for another term or retire, and no name has popped up as a potential candidate.
When potential candidates decide, they must file at the Wake County Board of Elections by filling out several forms and paying a $15 fee during the filing period that runs from noon on Friday, July 7, to noon on Friday, July 14.
Election Day is November 7 for Wake Forest and several other Wake County municipalities, and the three candidates with the most votes are the winners.
In 2025 Wake Forest will be voting for a mayor and two commissioners.
