*Hope House Weekly Food Pantry distributes food at 1 p.m. every Thursday. Hope House volunteers pick up the food from the Food Bank of Eastern and Central North Carolina and the house typically has vegetables, fruits, salad packages and breads but sometimes does have meat, eggs, fruit juice and milk. *Music at Midday every Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. in Centennial Plaza in front of the Wake Forest Town Hall continues through Sept. 28. The performer for Sept. 21 has not been announced, but Loos Change will entertain on Sept. 28.

*Wake Forest’s annual CROP Hunger Walk, the 38th, will be held this year on Sunday, Sept. 24, beginning at 2 p.m. Of the money raised b the 1.5-mile walk through the North Main Street Historic District, 25 percent will go to Tri-Area Ministry here and 75 percent will go to provide programs in the United States and around the world to fight poverty and provide disaster relief.
*Wake Forest Dance Festival, the Triangle’s first outdoor dance festival, is planned for Sept. 30, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at E. Carroll Joyner Park on Harris Road. Free and family-friendly, the inaugural event will feature national and regional professional dancers, as well as local rising advanced performers.
*A Wake Forest Tree Stewards Workshop will be held Saturday, Sept. 30, from 9 a.m. to noon in the Wake Forest Town Hall on Brooks Street. Please see article in this issue about the workshop.
*The Tri-Creek Greenway Crawl will celebrate the opening of 3.7 miles of new trails in the Wake Forest greenway system on Saturday, Sept. 30, beginning at 1 p.m. at the trailhead near Foundation Drive next to Heritage High School on Forestville Road. The new sections are on the Smith, Sanford and Dunn Creek greenways.
*The 25th annual Golf Outing sponsored by the Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce will tee off Monday, Oct. 2, at Hasentree Golf Club. The event is limited to 120 golfers. Call the chamber staff to reserve your foursome.

*Tri-Area Ministry will host a Stop Hunger Feed Hope dinner and auction to raise money to purchase free produce for the 700 families who rely on the ministry’s food pantry.
