*You will find Music at Midday  in Centennial Plaza on Brooks Street in front of the Wake Forest Town Hall on Thursday, Sept. 8, from noon to 1 p.m. Freddy Green will be the musician this week. Coming up are Mister Felix on Sept. 15, Hope Marasco and Blake Anderson on Sept. 22 and Lee Holt on Sept. 29. Several dessert trucks will be on site each week; Kona Ice will be on hand Sept. 1.

*The Wake Forest Farmers Market will be open in the Renaissance Plaza parking lot on Saturday, Sept. 10 with its regular spring, summer and fall hours, 8 a.m. to noon.

*Monday Night Bingo at The Factory is hosted by the Wake Forest Kiwanis Club in the Mill Room from 7 to 9:30 p.m. All profits support the club’s projects for children. Visit www.wakeforestbingo.com for more information.

*Donald Griesedieck will be honored Monday, Sept. 16, at 11 a.m. at the 15th Wake Forest Memorial Flag-Raising Ceremony in Centennial Plaza in front of the Wake Forest Town Hall at 301 Brooks Street See more details in this issue.

*A Father Daughter Dance hosted by the Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department will take place Friday, Sept. 16, at 6:30 p.m. at the Alston-Massenburg Center on Taylor Street. See this issue for details.

*The Irish Music Festival sponsored by the Ancient Order of Hibernians will take over South Taylor Street Saturday, Sept. 17, between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. with Irish bands and step dancers plus all sorts of items and activities Irish. Admittance is free; the Hibernians plan to make money from the sale of beer and hard ciders.

*The 11th annual Good Neighbor Day is planned for Sunday, Sept. 18, with food, games, music and fun in Holding Park from 1 to 4 p.m. Bring all the family and meet your neighbors.

*Pet owners are looking forward to Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 24 and 25, when the fourth annual Dirty Dogs Pet Extravaganza will take place in E. Carroll Joyner Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. One of the events will be the Ultimate Air Dogs competition and show.

*The 37th annual Wake Forest CROP Hunger Walk is set for Sunday, Sept. 25, at 2 p.m., beginning and ending at the Wake Forest Historical Museum on North Main Street. The route will be about 1.5 miles on flat sidewalks. See information in this week’s issue.

*The Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce is teaming up with the Rolesville Chamber of Commerce to present 2016’s Business Expo at Richland Creek Community Church on Burlington Mills Road on Thursday, Oct. 27, from 3 to 7 p.m. It is open and free to everyone in the Wake Forest-Rolesville area.

*Start some stamina training now to be able to enjoy all the events on Saturday, Dec. 3. On that day the Wake Forest Farmers Market plans its Holiday Artisans’ Market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre for the Arts, the Wake Forest Historic Preservation Commission will sponsor the Christmas Historic Home Tour, and Downtown Wake Forest Inc. will present the Downtown Wake Forest Holiday Open House.
