*The Forest of Wake StoryFest with storytelling workshops and open mic will take place Saturday, Aug. 6, from noon to 9 p.m. at the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre for the Arts on Brooks Street. Daniel M. Blaisdell, Lona Bartlett and Donna Washington will be featured.

*This is definitely a ways away, but dog and pet lovers will want to mark their calendars for Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 24 and 25, when the fourth annual Dirty Dogs Pet Extravaganza will take place in E.
