Brief Bits

The White Street Brewing Company is sponsoring a food drive to support Tri-Area Ministries – and the way they are doing it should attract the attention of a lot of their fans. If you take four nonperishable items for the food bank at Tri-Area to White Street Brewing on one or every Monday in November, the bartender will pour you a free pint of the beer or ale of your choice. So drink up and contribute.

You can continue to support Tri-Area by donating food or sending them a check. The food bank is at 149 East Holding Avenue and their mailing address is PO Box 1394, Wake Forest NC 27588.

Under the Oaks is at 2033 Wait Avenue. You will find handmade pottery, Fair Trade gifts, jewelry, wind chimes, nativities, and more along with free refreshments and a free drawing.

The Wake Forest Town Hall and other town offices – except, of course, the police department – will be closed Tuesday, Nov. 11, to observe Veterans Day.

There will be a ceremony Tuesday at the Veterans Memorial next to the Heritage Golf Club on Heritage Club Avenue.

There will be no yard waste collection on that Tuesday, but police, garbage, recycling and bulk pickup services will not be interrupted. The Wake Forest bus service, the Wake Forest-Raleigh Express and the Wake Forest Loop, will operate normally.
