Brief Bits

There will be free dental services – fillings and extractions – as well as children’s books on Saturday, May 4, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Zaxby’s at 995 Durham Road in Wake Forest.

For the free dental services, interested people must be scheduled at Outreach@CovenantLF.com or 919-602-1605. This program is sponsored by Covernant Life Fellowship Church, 247 Friendship Chapel Road, and Zaxby’s.

On Monday the Wake Forest Rotary Club presented a check for $4,500 to the Wake Forest High School Band Boosters. The two groups work together to sponsor the annual Comedy Night fundraiser held recently. This is part of the Rotary Club’s work to support youth in the Wake Forest Area.

Remember the Wake Forest Fire Department’s annual Fish Fry and Bake Sale will be Friday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Fire Station #1, 420 Elm Avenue.

Plates are $8 and will be piled with fried flounder, boiled potatoes, coleslaw and hush puppies. Plates include a beverage. There is free delivery of 20 or more plates.

The fire department’s Ladies Auxiliary is accepting donations of baked goods. For more information, call 919-556-1966.

Last weekend Heritage Middle School students performed “The Music Man Jr.” to nearly sold-out crowds. It was directed by Austin Royal with musical direction by Elsie Shuler and choreography by Melissa Christians. The musical starred Rebecca Bohannon as Marian the Librarian and Sean Cascone as Harold Hill.
